Oh, man, this is just how all my Digimon fanfics started!

Don't forget the Taichi/Yamato shippers, either. I remember them being a huge faction.

Oh man, I didn't mean to forget about them. It's that when I think of shipping wars for Digimon, I think of those two. People still complain about that ending after all these years.

Is it bad I'm actually kinda looking forward to watching them? The wank this new series could cause might be some of the best yet.

But anyway, I can't wait to see the designs! They're all going to be around seventeen this time around.

I'm mostly wondering if the this show will start making their end-game career choices make any sense. Like, will Sora be shown remotely giving a shit about designing clothes? Years later, I'm still confused about these things

I'm kinda hoping the first episode will start with Taichi waking up in bed thinking about what a ridiculous dream he just had. "I mean, Yamato, an astronaut? Sora a fashion designer? That's just stupid."

Whoo-hoo! But wait. I haven't watched Digimon since it was on Fox Kids, oh, fifteen years ago. I watched season 1, season 2, and some of season 3. I remember being shocked because season 3 claimed that season 1 and season 2 were just a TV show that kids watched, and weren't actually real.

...does that mean it is real? What is the Digimon canon?

also hopefully they throw out the season 2 garbage ending. Whoever wrote that was hopefully fired, etc.

That whole seasons one and two being a tv show within a tv show was a dub only thing iirc.

Well, consider that Ryo made his way between the Adventure canons and the Tamers canon somehow, so I think it's not that one is "real" and one isn't. More like they're parallel universes.

Tai, Sora, and Matt can be forever alone for all I care (or in a forever threesome, it's all good). I still want to know why Kari and TK weren't soul mates. I expect this sequel to rectify that ridiculously AU ending that didn't involve them married.

Digimon was one of my first fandoms, I'm happy about this. I hope we get to see some of the 02 kids too.

Yeah that's just what I was thinking.

I want to see more Ken.

I sort of want to rewatch Digimon so I can follow along with this, but do I care enough? I adored Digimon as a kid but the third season sounds pretty bad and idk. But I'm glad it's continuing at any rate; I know a lot of fans are going to be happy.

The third season was actually pretty good. You couldn't go into it thinking it was going to be like the first two though; it went to a lot darker places and they focused more on the real world than the digital one.
