I'm not offended by men holding the door open for me. I'm only offended by men who hold the door open for me because I'm a woman, and then won't do the same for men.

I'm also offended by men who get upset if I hold the door open for them - which is actually a thing that's happened to me. Because apparently holding a door open for someone is emasculating. -_-

I do this for guys at work.

And you wouldn't believe how many of them will stand in front of it and refuse to move until I go first. Maybe 2 out of 12 will go ahead and walk through.

Happened to me yesterday at 7-11. Held the door open for a guy and he chose to use the other door, despite the fact that I was holding the door wide open.

Men suck.

I'm usually not. It only annoys me if they like run to go do it because OMG A LADY! I MUST BE SUPER GENTLEMANLY TO HER BECAUSE OVARIES

but in general it's a nice thing to do for each other as human beings so I usually just appreciate it

as it is, anon, that's not how door-holding works. it's just a nice thing to do for each other REGARDLESS of gender.
