Re: Unpopular opinions
(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 01:24 am (UTC)(link)Not everyone has a great personality and even those who do are not always compatable with each other. We act like physical appearance can be endlessly improved upon but who we are inside is automatically beautiful and fascinating to everybody and not something we should ever have to work on and never a reason we might be rejected or passed over.

Re: Unpopular opinions
(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 04:24 am (UTC)(link)I also think it's possible to learn to be friendly. I was very unfriendly, closed-off and judgemental for years, partly as a way of coping with anxiety and partly because I wanted to seem or be smarter than other people. When I grew up a little and realized what I was doing, I learned to be friendly.
It took some time to make the transition, but it's not an act (any more than my unfriendliness was an act), it's just how I am now. But if you'd asked me when I was seventeen to stop being a cynical asshole to everyone, I would have said, "You can't change me, this is just how I am."
