I liked her except for that terrible line about "This [her competence] is why the aristocracy has survived for so long." No, it's because the aristocracy had the most money (weapons/food/power...)

Not Mel! Her voice is physically painful. Same for Peri.

MIL is incredibly needy, self-centered and really, really sensitive to any perceived slights. She's also very callous of other peoples' feelings and needs, and is constantly saying awful things because she doesn't think before she speaks. You know the kind of person who takes one look at you and blurts out, "Wow, you've gained weight!"? That's her. But if you say anything... ANYTHING!... she thinks is criticism, she blows up in a storm of tantrums and tears. She was also a terrible mother. I guess you'd call it benign neglect, but she had a child because she wanted unconditional love and acceptance and thought they could be BFFs instead of, you know, a parent and a child. She thinks of herself as really nurturing, but if anyone gets in the way of something she wants, she will trample you to get it and blame it on her absent mindedness.

We see her infrequently, and keep strict limits and boundaries on the time we have together, even though she'd love to see us every week if she could. She'll never understand why we're not close.

Heroes is really good. If you liked the original series, you'll like this one. Percy doesn't show up until the second book, but the first one is still pretty good. Plus one of the characters turns out to be Homosexual-won't say which one!

I only mostly see them via FB and they're pretty boring. No fandom activity really. I've even talked to a couple of them about it and my BFF says he finds it difficult to want to do fandom stuff even though he's a total Whedon fanboy. He just likes watching movies and tv or playing games, and talking to people he knows about it. He says he doesn't have a need to go online to find artwork or read fics or have online discussions with people. Most of my other friends seem to just be your everyday (stolen from Nostalgia Chick/Simpsons) "Joanne and Cleatus". They probably get tired of the way I treat FB since I mostly post fandomy memes and stuff.

One IRL friend who I don't talk to often anymore requested to follow me on Twitter and I had a mini freakout. I didn't want her reading my crazy fandom rants with my fandom friends so I've just ignored her request. Sorry friend...it's just...weird. That's why I have my Twitter on private.

Now I'm just a little freaked out because that is my exact name. o.O

I'm actually in a relationship where we do a fair bit of this, from both sides, and it doesn't seem to matter to me if I'm being the owner or the pet, it's just so much fun. It's just relaxing and silly and kinda sweet most of the time.

I recently started on escitalopram and I am already not enjoying the sexual side effects. Did you experience any of that?

Soon to be MIL has turned into a nightmare. So far she's called me the ugliest girl her son has ever dated, said I'm too fat despite being on the slender side right now, despite working a full time job and a part time job has said I'm on my lazy ass all the time even though I've cooked most meals and clean up after everyone. She has called me a whore even though my attire is on the modest side. Oh, and my sister almost died and showing grief over that made me a crybaby in her eyes. Basically there's no winning with her, and my future FIL's sisters have come up to me baffled about how I'm wonderful and how I'm not anything like what the MIL has described me as. (Gee, I WONDER WHY.)

Almost forgot that when she bring her and the future FILs friends over she trash talks about me to the point where FIL yells, "Stop it, that's enough!" I love her son but chewing on nails seems more appetizing than this bullshit.
