Appropriately, the one on the top right is probably from Dr. Who. (I'm assuming because of the telephone box.) It's a good bet the others are from the same show--maybe one's a former Doctor, since they say he "stayed way too long."

I just wanted to say that Fraser Hines (Jamie) is brilliant in the Big Finish audio dramas -- he does Patrick Troughton's voice too, and it's amazingly convincing.

Plus, you'll never convince me he stayed too long!

I love Martha and like Mickey and Clara a lot. Havent seen enough of Classic Who for the other companions.
Gwen on the other hand I greatly dislike partly because she's practically RTD's genderbent self-insert Mary Sue,and partly it's resentment that Ianto,Tosh,and Owen all were killed off because they were better liked than she was. I have a feeling Jack would have died permanently in Miracle Day if RTD had had his way too.

But but but I have a Martha hate story!

Couple years ago I was at a con and checking out the 404's improv show (they're basically a nerd group version of Whose Line). One of the themes from a hat picked was "Terrible Sidekicks".

Dude steps forward and smugly announces, "I'm Martha Jones!"

I guess he was expecting a rousing bout of agreement, except it was the louder opposite of that (ie: "boooooo not cool man!"). I have yet to experience that feeling of vindication again.

I liked Clara until series 8's premiere, where she suddenly became shallow and nearly left the Doctor because he wasn't young anymore.

The companion I REALLY cannot stand is Amy, I despise her "I'm Scottish so I can slap people and get away with it tee-hee" (and it made me grind my teeth when Capaldi went "I'm Scottish, I can COMPLAIN!" and then "Oh, ~Amy~ would have been so awesome if she were here" - seriously, she's turning into Rose) and then she always treated Rory like an afterthought and tried to seduce the Doctor. I actually quit watching the show for a while (in the middle of the sixth series, after "Let's Kill Hitler").

Was also surprised to see all the Donna hate. :(

Steven and Dodo (Dorothea) Chaplet, top right pic. I had no idea that people hated poor Dodo. I also have no idea whether Peter Purves, the actor who played Steven, was completely awful, since some fans apparently like him.

Donna and Amy are my favorites, but I like all of the Doctor Who companions that I've seen (haven't seen any of Classic Who).

Gwen is a different story, but then I really couldn't stand anyone on Torchwood (sorry) so it wasn't like she was singled out.

I don't get why people hate Martha and Mickey, but love Rory. Yeah, Martha had a crush on the doctor, but she was realistic about it and Mickey was a bit of a sap about Rose, but he got better. On the other hand, Rory was downright pathetic. He came across as a desperate idiot who'd anything and everything for a woman who didn't seem to care all that much about him, even if she did marry him. Man, he was irritating.
