Leave. Seriously.

Get together with the muns of the people your characters are closest to and talk about leaving. Maybe not with all of your characters, but the ones you're having a hard time with.

Polychromatic is NOT the end-all, be-all of multifandom role playing games. There are plenty of other options out there for you. Polychromatic is not where you have to be.

Yes, the moderation is immensely flawed and the moderators refused to do anything that might resemble actual work to fix things, yes, the application process is retarded and should be asking for personality and role in canon straight off the bat to negate these issues, yes the moderators don't listen to anything, and no, there is no plot and there never will be. But the moderators are basically a few people with baseball bats standing in a giant teeming sea of crazed weasels. What are they supposed to do? Kick out 400 characters to get it manageable? Add 15 more moderators and create a ridiculous hierarchy that turns the entire game into a political system? It's a giant melting pot for panfandom individuals who want to hang out and be crazy. You want plot? You want development? Pack up and move.

I don't know that there is much the moderators at Poly could do besides shut the whole thing down for a month and seriously re-work the infrastructure. No matter what they do, no one who stays will be happy.

But seriously, leave. You'll be happier. (I know I am.)

...without the the details. I say, setting aside issues the OP had with the mods/game/etcetera... if RP starts being unfun, or if it gets in the way of real life, or anything... then the logical choice would be to quit~ Instead of continuing to walk on nails or something :o

18; Feel free to come hang out in my neck of the woods. I vehemently avoid the fandom and the fanbrats (Although I do roleplay as Sam, it's in a smaller game and my Dean is much the same about avoiding the general fandom) and it's generally a very peaceful existence! Especially since I am also enjoying this season! :D

25; god I know. We carry the new books at the place I work, and we still get the American Girl catalogues for the dolls because I got one when I was 9, and I was flipping through it earlier and it's depressing to see they've retired Felicity, and she was actually one of my favorites. (I actually wanted the doll of her more, but I got one of the 'looks-like-me dolls') I've still got all my books and the paper dolls, too >_>

11. :( It is good to have something to look forward to. I'm curious about how that storyline will play out as well. But please remember that Stargate Atlantis isn't the only thing to look forward to. There's always something else, whether it be an activity you enjoy or a new fandom that doesn't even exist yet. Even if life seems hard sometimes. Also, if you're really considering suicide, please get help, even if it's scary or embarrassing. We want you to stick around.
18. I saw this fandom's problems coming a mile away, honestly. Not involved in it personally (I've watched a few episodes) but the whole Wincest/anti-Wincest that started up seemed like it would be just the tip of the iceberg. Guess I was right. Sorry to hear about it.
22. Secrets like this make me glad I'm not incredibly involved with a lot of my fandoms. I just don't get the mentality of the canon or heavily implied couples being "boring" or "obvious." Does everyone have to come up with off-the-wall, no-obvious-subtext slash pairings to be a legitimate fan? That's completely ridiculous. So, I agree. It's sad that you have to hide pairings like that.
34. B-b-but I like Zooey Deschanel. :P I don't think she's a bad actress at all. Oh well. I agree that Alan Cumming is also good, though.
47. I love Simon and River's relationship, too. It really is fantastic. But only as brother and sister, no romantic subtext. Ah well, to each his/her own.

34. I don't recall seeing her in anything else, but I personally thought she was pretty horrible in Tin Man. Not as horrible as whoever played Cain (he was like a shallow, poorly-written version of Malcolm Reynolds). But still. She reminded me of George in Dead Like Me--almost all of her lines were delivered with the exact same inflection. Not deadpan, just...the same inflection, and not one that fit. In DLM, it worked because it was a sarcastic, understated show. But Tin Man was supposed to be whimsical.

42. My problem with Poly is this: Last I looked almost all of the apps were asked for another RP Sample or more information, especially those apps from new players. I understand the need to make sure the player can get the character IC, but when almost every app needs more then it's time to put another section in the application.

That'll also avoid players waiting 3 weeks for a final verdict.

My personal take on the problem is that the first time around, too many people are trying to show that they can integrate their character into the plot and surroundings, and don't actually convey the character's thoughts/motivations/personality. I'm guilty of this and have been asked for additional samples every single time I've applied, and will probably be asked when I submit the application I'm currently working on;;;

If you know someone that's a decent writer, you should ask them to look over your application and ask if they honestly think you convey the character's personality as well as a balance of how well they're integrated into the setting. :3 I'm doing it this time around and I've already tweaked a few things for the better~ ♥
