9. I get what you mean about the "lesbians who only read/write yaoi" thing but no matter how much people want to make it, sexuality isn't black and white. There's so many reasons for human attraction that we can't understand or pick up on.

He's Llyud from Revenant Wings, the DS spinoff for Final Fantasy XII. :) He and Fran don't interact much (if at all) on-screen, but there's a few things that Llyud says that made me wonder what the chemistry between him and Fran would be like- and it all kinda snowballed from there. D: If I could write fic, I'd do it myself regardless of being such a closet shipper.

21. While I'd be reluctant to call any of them 'emo,' (as they really have been through quite a lot and I figure are allowed to angst if they want to), I definitely agree. I love the characters who, despite how hard they've been trodden upon, can still emerge cheerful and hopeful and happy. But that's just personal preference, obviously.

22. Ahhhh, I hate that mentality! I mean, of course people are allowed to ship whoever the hell they want, but how is a canon pairing, or one with a ridiculous amount of subtext, or a popular one, any less legitimate or awesome than an OMGRANDOM pairing? Syaoran/Sakura will never NOT be one true love, Touya/Yukito will never NOT be soulmates, and *BLUSHBLUSH* Gilmore Girls secret ftw, and while I'm either not familiar with or not an active supporter of the other two, what on earth could be wrong with shipping them just because others do, or because others don't, or because they're canon or because they're not? Sure, some people like random pairings. Hell, my OTP has no canon interaction at this point. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with loving a pairing just because it has evidence. And boring? PLEASE TOUYA COULDN'T BE BORING IF IT HIT HIM UPSIDE THE HEAD. AND NEITHER COULD KAKASHI FOR THAT MATTER.

33. I had no idea about any of that. I saw the pictures before I read the text and for a moment I felt my heart sink because I thought it was implying that Takashima-sensei was a plagiarist, which would've totally ruined my enjoyment of Wild Rock from now on. And then I actually read your commentary and got even sadder. I had no idea any of that had happened, and it really depresses me. That someone could ruin another's career, or even escape without punishment, just because their mother holds sway over a section of the market is just horrible. Especially as Takashima-sensei is utterly AWESOME. I haven't read much of the other manga-ka, but I never thought she was anything more than mediocre. ARGJKGHHH this is just upsetting.

I just found out recently actually, hence the secret.

After finding about that, it made me wonder about another wonderful artist (Asato Eiri) who dropped off the radar almost completely, and didn't complete her title works. I mean, with yaoi manga being usually oneshots, you notice sometimes when WIPs suddenly stall and the mangaka disappears...

On the brighter side though, I heard news of Harlem Beat wo Yoake volume 4 being released recently, and something about it being the last volume in the series, so I don't know whether that's a good sign or a bad sign.

When I was glancing through my roommate's copies of Wizard's "How to Draw" compilations where he talks about using photo reference for art.

The only thing keeping me from taking a sharpie to those pages is that it isn't my book. Gruh. Tracing ftl.

We don't carry any of the "Girls of Today" books at my bookstore. Classic AG only! I still Molly and a custom doll packed away somewhere and loved them both to death, but I couldn't afford any of the clothes or accessories for them. My grandmother bought them for me and I'm keeping them for my potential daughter. I really wanted Felicity and Josephina too. I want to re-read the books now, and I've been meaning to check out the new Julie books anyway.

34. Word. It kind of hurt. I complain about DG, but the guy playing Cain was the absolute worst of all. I think that the writers may've intended for there to be chemistry between the two, but there was all the chemistry of two wooden posts planted in the vicinity of one another. Now, Cain and Glitch, or DG and Glitch...well, that had chemistry like woah, but only because Alan Cumming could have chemistry with a stump. He was good times!

My little brother and I are really close, very Simon-and-River-like, and I swear, if our life were a show, people would probably ship us, and that thought makes me throw up in my mouth a little. You were "skeptical" that someone was a lesbian just because they wrote yaoi?

And, to top it off, you actually presented this grand dissertation (based on, um, your thoughts on yaoi, I guess) to them?

That takes some balls. And I'm sorry if you felt hurt when people called you on it but dude... telling someone they can't be a lesbian because they write yaoi is just so many layers of wrong.

(I have no idea if that was the exact situation or not, but it's sure the vibe I'm getting from the secret.)
