Re: Why is female sexuality so creepy?
(Anonymous) 2015-01-01 02:37 am (UTC)(link)Men have an entire industry catering to their preferences. And there are actresses -- real human beings -- who act out a huge variety of male fantasies. And a lot of those fantasies involve people (ESPECIALLy women) in pain. I can't tell you the number of videos I've seen that feature women in pain with gaping assholes or having cocks shoved into their mouths until they're crying and drooling.
And the porn industry can be pretty abusive so although it's supposed to be consensual, quite a number of those women were, in some way, coerced. Not all, of course. Probably not even the majority. But enough that it makes me uncomfortable.
I find that much more bothersome, personally, than a random woman who wants to write a story about Harry being turned into a ferret and getting impregnated by Draco's pet. THAT, as weird as it is, hurts no one and thus is less "creepy" to me.

Even the kinkiest fic is just a bunch of words, nobody wants it to be truth (usually), it´s just a fantasy that stays that way hurting nobody.
Re: Why is female sexuality so creepy?
(Anonymous) 2015-01-01 04:26 am (UTC)(link)I strongly suspect that fewer women like live action poem is because live action porn is directed towards male fantasies. In a world where that wasn't the case, I imagine loads of women would watch porn. Put it another way - I strongly doubt that the decision to watch or not watch live action porn has anything at all to do with the morality of the porn industry for most men or most women, and certainly it doesn't have to do with it on the level of sexual fantasy, so I am extremely skeptical that this is any kind of evidence about anything intrinsic to either genders sexuality.
Re: Why is female sexuality so creepy?
(Anonymous) 2015-01-01 06:01 am (UTC)(link)But when you see actress after actress getting reamed by 5-10 guys and after you've heard some of the horror stories, well, I can't help but to see that as "creepier." At the very least, it makes me far more uncomfortable than even the weirdest shit that some women write.
Plus, is the porn most women watch so very violent? Because I have watched a little bit of porn directed towards women and, while there is violence, it tends to be confined to an established BDSM scene. Porn geared towards women (from what I've seen which isn't a ton, admittedly) tends to be a lot more tender.
Porn directed towards men seems to focus so much on degrading and hurting women.
Mind you, I don't have any issue with watching porn in and of itself. But the way women are treated in porn makes me uncomfortable and I think it's a big reason a lot of women don't like it in the first place. I know that is true for me at least.
Re: Why is female sexuality so creepy?
There's a really good reason for that, obviously. The stuff you can do to an imaginary character is stuff that would get you thrown in jail if you tried to do it to a real person (and in a lot of cases would be downright unpalatable if you were to watch it happening to a real person, imo).
I think a lot of guys are conditioned by their friends to find the normative fantasies titillating, but in the age of the internet just as many are turning to other outlets for their "deviant" kinks. It's a cultural thing for live action porn to cater to what is deemed "normal" male fantasies. If it was the norm for it to cater to "normal" female fantasies we'd probably see more women consuming it, but instead what do we tend to see? Fanfiction. Romance novels. Manga and doujinshi.
There you have it.
