That will never happen, just look at all the women posting stories of their self-projects getting raped and loving it and this community getting all up in arms about it because how dare women love getting ravaged by a man.

3/10

Way too over the top

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
1/10 get those blindfolds off and start accepting that women have rape fantasies.

AYRT

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Who was even talking about rape or rape fantasies specifically? There's a lot of things in fanfictions that the fic reading community can be assholes to each other over.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, you came in going on about "rape fantasies" and "women secretly wanting to be ravaged" when nobody mentioned rape to begin with.....did you honestly not expect anyone to call troll?

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair no other fantasy is as widespread and no other fantasy gets as much flak.

DA

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I can think of a few things in fanfiction that get fair amounts of flak.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
How about the "happily ever after fantasy"? It doesn't get flak, but it's the most widespread fantasy ever.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Ties in with the rest. Lots of stories start with someone getting forced sex, liking it and then living happily ever after with their ravisher by the end.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-12 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
There's a reason it gets flak. I think probably the best reason is that it's widespread and yet a majority of women don't like it (around 30% of women enjoy rape fantasies. Same percentage as men).

(Anonymous) 2015-01-12 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Your percentages don't coincide with mine.

I get that you're a troll any don't actually care, but those percentages some from research on the subject, not "women are exactly as I see them" wishful thinking about gender stereotypes.

Roughly equal numbers of men and women have those fantasies, and both cases it's a (large) minority.

"Ravished"

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Raped. Ravishment = rape.

DA

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought ravishment = forced sex that that you like and rape = forced sex that you don't like? I always see people bitching 'I thought this was a rape story, why did they start liking it halfway?' so proper labeling here would help, especially since it seems a fuckton of people love ravishment.

I think ayrt is deliberately trying to stir the pot. We've wanked about this specific topic several times (I think anon was trying to reignite it; I wish they'd waited until a post more conducive to it honestly) but those are in fact two different words that mean different things.

Re: DA

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Anon was clearly and deliberately trying to stir the pot about it. It's like if I ended this post by talking about how demisexuals don't exist or something.

Couldn't we just use the dubcon / noncon language? Isn't that conceptually clearer?

Doesn't "dubcon" have to do with an outside perspective? In the mind of the person engaging in the act, wouldn't it be a bit more defined as consensual or not? (having not had sex, I cannot say for sure)

I've seen dubcon be used for stuff like drunk sex etc as well. Or stories where you don't know consent happened. Or where there is consent, but the circumstances make you think consent might not have been made in a sound state of mind.

2/10 way too blunt.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-11 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Wasn't the last shitstorm on the topic here pushing exactly for that?

Pushing for what? Not sure what you mean.
