I know someone will come in and explain how a threesome isn't an OT3 or more, which is true, but the way I've seen OT3s handled in fandom, they are threesomes.

I am sorry you went through that and don't let anyone try and tell you how to view them if it makes you uncomfortable.

I'm sorry, OP. I can relate.

I had a couple of OT3s. And then I got pressured into being in a poly relationship (I'm monogamous to the point of absurdity, she was as poly as it gets). We muddled through for a while but it quickly fell apart. She was emotionally abusive on top of all the other issues, and it really fucked me up. I'm over the relationship now, but I can't handle threesome fic anymore.

I'm sorry this happened, OP. Anything you do out of being pressured can turn out to be a horrible experience, especially when it comes to sex.

I love threesomes, but I'm usually very careful assessing the situation before going for it. I now regret passing up an opportunity with my partner and his best friend, but better safe than sorry.

Forget the OT3s. I'm hoping it didn't ruin what you and your significant other had. Hopefully your lover realized how bad it was for you, apologized, and won't ask for another one. I really hope you at least told your lover how bad the experience was for you. It was good of you to try it but, whether you stayed with your SO or left that relationship, never let anyone put you in that situation again unless it's something you actively want.

I'm sorry. That totally sucks. When I had a bad breakup with a couple, I was in a similar situation. I couldn't stand to read happy OT3s. It does get better over time. Until then, you have my sympathy.

I know how you feel OP. I've had a similar experience with that and it also didn't end well. My experience was that I was just close with one person and not the 3rd member but those two were really close with each other so I just felt like the third wheel with a stranger in the bedroom.

For me I'd have to be really close with both people and attracted to them, but to find that and have them also willing to do it seems rare.
