Ahahahahah AHAHA. dude. Most ppl who do a bit of fanart DO make money off of it, or their other artwork. Someone like ah, Makani, who is big in HP fandom, does artwork of HP characters AND ocs as commissions. saying 'they arent making money off their fanart' is like saying ppl who write doujin's aren't making money. Riiight.

I have no idea where all this wank is coming from. To be perfectly honest, I liked the movie way better than the musical. True, I didn't see the original live((I did catch it a few times it aired on public TV)), but I saw the revival live, and the movie is still so much better.

People need to stop wanking over Johnny too. No, he's not Len Cariou. No, he's not Michael Cerveris. But that's one of the reason I was glad to see him in the role. If they casted people too like the original/revival roles, it just wouldn't be interesting. Same thing goes Helena. Also, people need to stop saying that she got the role 'cause she's sleeping with Burton.

I just barely finished the game, though I've been going back on my old save and completing hunts, trying to finish the license grid, hunting for good weapons, etc. I know I can't get the Zodiac Spear or whatever -- I opened the wrong chests at some point -- but the game is still just so easy and fun to play. I don't avoid and run from battles like I did in the other FFs, because battles are actually fun and, on hunts and against espers and bosses, quite epic and easy to get into.

I plan to do a full replay after I've had long enough to let the game sink in and fade a bit. I replay all my games rather religiously, which is a bit dumb. But I'm in the middle of a replay of Tales of the Abyss at the moment, and planning to replay Okami, before I replay FFXII.

25. No, I really, really agree with you. I absolutely hate seeing posts like 'lol sharing fanart found randomly', and most of the time it's from 4chan. People think 'one little fanart' won't matter, but to the artist it may matter a great deal. And one quickly adds to more.

46. Please don't tell me you think Tsubasa is a masterpiece of a story. Please. I mean, I'll grant you that the Kurogane/Fay fans tend to be a little... odd, but not everyone is like that! And when it's chapter after chapter of ANGSTOMG or 'yaaay collecting feathers', focusing on the characters instead of on the worlds themselves is far, far more appealing.

No, I agree. I think that the artists should be respected and credited. I'm a fanartist myself, and I know quite a few; I also do graphics and icons. I'm not denying that there's a considerable amount of originality on either ends, because the idea of measuring something like that is entirely objective. There's also a considerable amount of originality going into making a 100x100 square. That goes either way.

What I'm saying is that icon makers can't whine that other people aren't crediting them when they take images and make icons out of them without crediting the original artist.

Ghghg, I can sort of understand where you're coming from, OP, I like some pairings with one character topping over the other, but I don't think of "topping" as "controlling the relationship", and I don't necesssarily think of "gentle" as "bottoming".

Gaspard Ulliel, the person, has nothing to do with Twilight.

The fandom associates his face with Edward, but he has nothing to do with that. So no, he has nothing to do with Twilight.

It's not that I don't like Vaan -- I admit I find his character a bit bland and dull, but I'm far from hating him. It's just that sometimes the game tries too hard to push him as being THE main character, when the stories being told are really about Balthier and Ashe.
