They're pretty common in TV too.
...man, I just realized I don't have a single brown-haired white dude as a major character. Now I know why.

I also don't have any stereotypical 30-something brown haired white dudes as main protagonists. They're all either way too old or way too gay to count.

Maybe it'd even explain why BSI was so mediocre!

I love Bioshock 1 and adore Bioshock 2. BSI feels like a bit of a slap in the face. Ken Levine believes his own hype.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-23 01:46 am (UTC)(link)If you want to give it a try, just borrow it from someone instead of buying it. That's what I did, since I'd heard mixed things.
FWIW I personally liked it, although there are a lot of valid criticisms to be made. I think Bioshock 2 is the best in the series though.

I really liked it. It suited a variety of play styles a lot better than BioShock 1 and 2, and I wouldn't call either of those games really non-linear. The plot and characters were more interesting, though the narrative was not quite as affective or intriguing to me. It had problematic elements, but also a way better ending.
Both are interesting games worth playing in their own right. I think the most skippable one is probably BioShock 2.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-23 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)(I guess it didn't help that I found the voice-in-your-ear character in 1 to be annoying. He'd chime in and I'd be like "Shut up! I don't want another quest! Go away! Just let me explore!)
