I tried it. My husband tried it. At least a dozen members of a pro-GMO group on Facebook tried it. We all got the same result.

Chipotle's Facebook page is filtering out any comments/posts that include the word "science" in them the day after they officially rolled out their "non-GMO" menu.

I was so pissed when I found out I was actually screaming and scaring my husband/cats. I'm not sure I'm going to sleep tonight because I'm so pissed off and have too much adrenaline in my system. This is maddening because I like Chipotle's food. However, their anti-science stance is at best frustrating. I may not be in a scientific career, but I support science literacy and feel these kinds of campaigns encourage willful ignorance.

God. Fucking. Dammit.

Saw that non-GMO sign displayed proudly in the window of one this afternoon. I don't think I'm going to eat there any more. Willful ignorance is right.

Honestly, I think the public is literally brain damaged when it comes to GMOs.

Yes, Monsanto is a giant dick of epic proportions. Because of it's BUSINESS practices. But there's nothing wrong with GMOs (at least, no more so than selective breeding).

I find that information about Monsanto's business practice gets muddled up in its history. The seed storage lawsuits are probably the strongest evidence of Monsanto's current practices, but a good chunk of information has old events woven into it.

That said, GMOs in general are worth pursuing (at least the way I see it). There are plenty of businesses interested in them.

As one of the anons arguing with the OP, I want to make it clear my argument has very little to do with a material disagreement over GMOs. I'm pretty okay with GMOs.

They're probably filtering that word to weed out the hate, not because they hate science.

And whether you agree with the anti-GMO people or not, it's their bodies and if they don't want to put GMO food in it, that's their right. If Chipotle wants to cater to people's desires, what's so maddening about that?
