Maybe just maybe people are against gay marriage, not because they hate gay people, or because they want gay people to be beaten, taunted, live in fear or poverty, feel driven to suicide. In fact a lot of people can be against gay marriage and still be aware of the injustice that so many teens who identify as trans and gay are homeless.

But maybe the reason is not because they want to deny a human rights, but because they can't encourage something that's UNNATURAL for humanity.

It doesn't mean they might not love gay relatives they have, or respect, even admire, the talent or courage that's been shown by so many gay people throughout history. But you can do all those things, and still not want to support gay marriage.

Mm, this sounds dangerously like "marriage is intended for natural procreation", because the lack of partner+partner procreation (not even taking adoption or IVF into account) is literally the only thing that differentiates gay from straight marriage. I'm not touching the word "unnatural", because homosexuality is visible (and often a legitimate partnering/family setup) in literally hundreds of species in the world, so...yeah.

But going back to the "marriage = man+woman=child", like...okay, so do straight, infertile people not get to get married? Do elderly straight couples not get to get married?

Face it. The only reason to not support gay marriage is because, underneath everything, you honestly don't believe that they deserve the same rights as straight people. That's it.

No, stuff your excuses back where you got them from. Denying people their rights is an act of hatred, full stop.

Naaah, I'll take the "FAGS ARE SICK" crowd over the "I'm not homophobic but..." one.

So when they are presented all the information that homosexuality is, in fact, not unnatural, what do they do?

On the minuscule chance you're not trolling your little shriveled heart out-- I'm a straight cis woman. What if I was infertile? Would I not be allowed to get married? Also, if you belong to a church where the primary purpose of marriage and sex is procreation, then you can go ahead and kick out all the childless couples. No church or religion is required to marry any particular couple, whether because they can't have kids, or are gay, or wear the wrong color clothes, or whatever. People act like US government-sanctioned gay marriage will make it so churches have to perform gay marriage ceremonies, which is never going to be a thing, thanks to the handy dandy separation of church and state.

The secret's OP gets 6/10.

Maybe, just maybe, same-sex marriage bans were passed in states where same-sex marriage wasn't on the roadmap as part of a legal doctrine to justify discrimination.

And maybe, just maybe, the case is before the Supreme Court because most of the district courts have not found a compelling state interest sufficient to trump the human right to equal protection under the law.

But this white-knighting doesn't exactly make sense, given that John C. Wright compared writers of LGBT-positive fiction to termites in need of extermination. So yes, it's safe to say that Rabid Puppies hate gay people.

so STFU whining about "unnatural" or go back to only talking to people who you actually see while you go about your hunter-gatherer lifestyle (agriculture being another "unnatural" thing).

gay relationships are natural and have been happening since before homo sapien was a distinct species

People like you probably want to outlaw marriage for straight couples who just don't want kids, too.
