I am not spreading shit, I really need to know.

I was having the usual "Are women comedians funny" argument today. I brought up Amy Schumer, because she is fucking hilarious. Seriously love her work.

I was linked to an article that goes into following details

Amy details how she lacked attention from all the guys at college save one, a “super senior” named Matt. One day Matt calls her at 8 am, inviting Amy over to his dorm room. When Amy goes to his dorm room, she immediately recognizes that he is drunk:

"Finally, the door opens. It’s Matt, but not really. He’s there, but not really. His face is kind of distorted, and his eyes seem like he can’t focus on me. He’s actually trying to see me from the side, like a shark. “Hey!” he yells, too loud, and gives me a hug, too hard. He’s fucking wasted."

This doesn’t stop Amy from going into his room. According to her, she just wants to feel desired. She gets into bed with him, and they have some incredibly awkward forms of sexual intercourse:

"His fingers poked inside me like they had lost their keys in there. And then came the sex, and I use that word very loosely. His penis was so soft, it felt like one of those de-stress things that slips from your hand?"

I won’t give you all the details, but it is important to note that Matt was repeatedly falling asleep during the encounter, according to Amy’s story. It gives an indication as to how impaired Matt was, and how Amy let it continue despite the interruptions.

I have never heard this story. I don't think it comes from a reputable source either.

Idk unless somewhere else picks it up and links to a confirmed interview I wouldn't pay it any attention. MRAs HATE Amy, and I'm sure they'd make up anything to smear her.

The story is quoting a story Schumer herself told during an awards banquet. The full transcript is on line (the story links it at http://www.vulture.com/2014/05/read-amy-schumers-ms-gala-speech.html). I suppose it's possible the entire thing is fictional, but it's all over the Internet being quoted approvingly, so it's not like they did it to hurt her.

And thought catalog is not really an MRA site.

Don't know if it happened. But if it did, honest to god, it actually does bother me. The way it's presented, it just seems enormously shitty and violating. And just trying to imagine it with the genders reversed - that's messed up.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't watch her show, I don't think.

I don't think drunk sex is necessarily rape. He may have wanted to have sex with her before he began drinking, just like couples have sex and get drunk beforehand aren't necessarily raping each other if the consent on both ends was understood.

It sounds to me like drunk or not, he was the one who had the power in that situation.

She was by her own admission insecure, in her first year at college and not overly confident. She was on the lowest end of college hierarchy and he was a popular senior. If anyone has a right to call rape, it would be her, but as she was clearly willing, and as he was also willing, and capable enough to use the phone correctly, I say it's in not in any way rape.

Being insecure or unpopular doesn't mean you can't rape somebody, wtf. She was in college. She was a fucking adult, responsible for her own emotions and her own bad choices. If this story is true then she's not a victim, she's a rapist.

She went over to a drunk person's house and then had sex with them while they were so drunk they were incoherent, unresponsive, and falling asleep. Meaning he couldn't consent and likely wasn't mentally or physically coordinated enough to fight her off.

idk if she's a rapist or if this is even true but having sex with someone who's completely trashed while you're sober is very skeevey. If some dude was talking about how a super drunk girl invited him back to her place and he had sex with her despite the fact that she was literally unconscious for parts of it, then I think people would find it almost unquestionably creepy

I'm not familiar with this person, nor this website and whether or not it is reputable.

But if she had sex with someone who was not legally able to consent - and there is no history of consensual sexual relationship - then yes, she is a rapist. If it's true, she deserves just as much outrage as any guy who admitted to a story like this.

If the story is true and if the genders-reversed version would have legally counted as rape in the state where it happened in then yes, she's a rapist.
