This anon would be very grateful if we could not cite women in this thread. We have quite enough media already telling us we're worthless when we get old, please lets not do that here as well.

Who says let yourself go has an age restriction? Someone could be 20, get way into hard drugs and ruin their physical appearance. See: lots of child stars

well, this is a thread entirely dedicated to pettily bitching about people who do things like aging or gaining a little bit of weight, so you may just want to skip it. you don't have to read it.

I don't agree with that. If it's wrong to do it, it's wrong to do it, absent some extremely compelling reason. And I don't see one here.

To put that in simpler terms: I agree with you that we shouldn't cite women in this thread. Why should we cite men?

I immediately want to say "Carrie Fischer," though. Not specifically for aging, but for partying herself into a husk of what she would otherwise be at her age. She let herself go in pretty much every sense, at least for a while.

I don't really care when celebrities age or gain some weight, but I hate serial plastic surgery with a passion. Case in point: Lara Flynn Boyle. Just why?

Me too. I'd rather have wrinkles and pounds then see actors slip into the uncanny valley from having too much surgery.

I donvt thibk it's always a matter of "letting themselves go." Appearances change as people age.

Having said that, Nathan Fillion for sure. And somewhere between seasons 4 and 8 Richard Dean Anderson went from silver fox to ... the opposite of that in Stargate.

The other Castle and the Supernatural guys all just fall under the umbrella of visibly aging. Some more gracefully (SPN) than others.

I'm not sure "letting go" is the word but Jocelyn Wildenstein, Donatella Versace, and Gary Busey are ... getting very interesting looking.

I mostly think people get more attractive with age though. :(
