When I first saw the trailer for Pixel, I didn't know it was an Adam Sandler movie, and I was genuinely excited for it, since I thought it looked fun.

Finding out that it was, and the movie sucks was kind of a disappointment. I still might torrent it at a later date, but man, I was hoping so much that it was going to be good. :/

Anyone else have recent disappointments?

Why? What will happen if he stops making movies?

He'll stop ruining scripts and concepts that might otherwise be good, and the money that's spent on making his movies will go towards movies that have the potential to be watchable

Maybe his racist and bigoted ass will disappear.

I lol'd at the trailer before I discovered someone else had done this same concept before in a three minute Youtube video a few years back.

Now I'm torn about seeing it because while I adore Ashley Benson and Peter Dinklage, it doesn't sound like the producers handled the original "story" well at all.

According to the reviews both of them gave the worst performances of their careers.

It's actually based on the YouTube short.

And if you like Peter Dinklage, just go rent Days of Future Past again.

Or Knights of Badassery.

Or The Station Agent.

Excellent Peter Dinklage vehicles.

...or when get a message and it's some 50 year old looking for other fifty year olds, even though I definitely do not look 50, nor is it on my profile that that's my age or what I'm looking for. Are they just trolls/desperate men who send messages to whoever?

Once, ~10 years ago, I joined a dating site as a free trial, and I started getting messages before I'd posted a photo or even much info. I think some guys just send out blanket messages to any women within the right geographical area and worry about the details only for those who respond.

I just got my thesis back and it was a 5 out of 10 so I have to th redo the stupid fucking thing. I am currently considering starting a life of prostitution.

I just don't know what to say. I'm not sure if those private tapes where he was saying the N word were leaked or what. On one hand I'm angry that he would talk like that and on the other I feel like celebrities are under a huge microscope and can't speak their mind without risk of their stardom turning on them. I'm sure EVERYONE has made a really shitty racist remark in a moment of anguish where we weren't thinking, but oh my God if a celeb does it they're horrible forever.

There's no excuse for racist remarks and I get that. He apologized for it and it seems sincere. It won't fix his reputation much however I think his willingness to man up and admit he fucked up says a lot. It doesn't sound like he apologized to save himself, rather, he apologized because he genuinely feels bad.

But I'm white so I can't speak for anyone but myself. I can't pretend to understand the impact of the N word so all I can say is I'm really disappointed in the Hulkster. He should have thought before he spoke because I think he alienated a huge part of his fanbase.

I would say that, from what I've seen of transcripts and such, it doesn't seem like this was some casual unfortunate joking, or some momentary slip, or something.

This. From what I read, it doesn't sound like a one off slip of the tongue, it sounded like he was expressing some racist thoughts about black men in particular, then trying to rationalize those racist comments.

...I know I should just google it, but I don't know what exactly happened. He was caught on a racist tirade or something?

Unfortunately, he (allegedly) didn't know he was taped while having the sex in which he had these infamous comments.

The Hobbit films.

I felt sorry for my mother more because she's a massive fan and rereads LOTR every year, and read me The Hobbit as a child.

LOTR was good, but The Hobbit films were such a mess.

Agreed so hard. But honestly, I expected them to be a mess. The Hobbit is a classic children's book, but I don't think the plot lends itself well to a typical theatrical movie. oh yeah and then of course Peter Jackson did everything he could to fuck it up further. But LOTR was amazing and near flawless, imo (could grievances in the third movie but whatever). The Hobbit was just... blah.

I'm in full agreement. They were a mess in terms of plot and cinematography, and while I knew the former was a risk, I wasn't expecting the latter at all. :(

Im disappointed that you can't make up your own mind about what sucks. Sure, other people can say something sucks and it may be true for them - and something may have some objectively bad qualities - but to outright dismiss it on someone else's opinion is sad-makimg.

And I don't even give a shit about Pixels or Adam Sandler. Except for Click. That movie was awesome.

Yeah, but if its people's opinions they generally agree with (critics or friends), why spend money on something you probably won't like?
