Yes, they do still ship it. Through Bucky/Steve is where you want to look for a lot of bottom Steve.

And Thor/Steve! I have yet to come across a Thor/Steve fic where Steve doesn't bottom. (Admittedly it's nowhere near as popular as Steve/Bucky, but I think it's worth mentioning.)

This is frustrating me. I cannot find it. The things I remember are that it was dom!Steve/Sub!Thor and they were on Asgard. Odin didn't think Thor was worthy of his son. But the only fic I can find with a similar summary on AO3 is not the one I was thinking of.

For me, I'd totally be down for bottom yet dominant Steve fics. But that never happens. And Steve is one of those characters I see as more of a dominant person in bed no matter who he is paired with.

New anon here. For what it's worth, I agree with you. He comes across to me as a very "take charge person in both the movies and the comics, and he's one of the ones for whom I think that would carry over into the bedroom. He really likes being in charge, and I think he likes being in charge in situations that are a lot more under his control than missions that can fall apart at any moment. Plus, I think he'd be very good at being a dom.

I'm mulling over writing a bottom yet dominant Steve story, because I really like the idea, and more of this needs to exist. I'm also quite annoyed with the way fandom so often conflates bottoming with being submissive, and assumes that subs only ever bottom and doms only ever top.
