I am pretty sure the main hero of Wreck It Ralph might be someone named Ralph.

Right? Fixit Felix Jr was a deuteragonist at best

Not that I really care about obligatory movie romances but I thought pairing the tough girl with the sweet boy was pretty refreshing, usually it goes the other way around.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-01 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That's because most girls are sweet, tough girls are rare. But when there's a tough girl, they always end up with the sweet boy.

Ehh, not really. It was another case of the hot woman going with the funny looking doofus guy. It's NEVER the opposite - never is the woman the unattractive, out of shape, doofus. It's always the man.

I thought it was refreshing too, also, I'm tired of the impossible sweet, naive female characters. I like characters that are well-rounded, but if I must pick between brain dead female character that's easily manipulated because she's so "sweet", or tough girl that get shits done I'll stick with the later.

Well, average looking he may be, at least Felix was an out and out sweetheart, unlike Peter Griffin

Why so judgey, anon? There must be someone out there who's got the hots for those "objectively unattractive" men, otherwise this wouldn't exist:

(Anonymous) 2015-10-01 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, have you... actually seen the movie? A lot of this secret sounds kinda off.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-01 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
WTF? Felix wasn't anything like Peter Griffin or Homer, he was sweet. And his design is pretty cute.

Are you the person who called Felix a schlub that one time? I'm still buttchafed about that secret.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-01 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Felix wasn't the MC, Ralph was.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-01 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Going by the art style of his own game, wouldn't Felix be considered rather attractive?

I feel like you read a CalhounxRalph fanfiction and thought it was the real thing

Felix isn't the main character though and aside from being shorter than her I wouldn't say he's unattractive(hell he seems plenty popular with the ladies in his own game).

(Anonymous) 2015-10-02 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
The romance annoyed me, too. Well, that's not fair, on it's own it was fine. But why couldn't it have been the other way around for once - the unattractive, maybe even fat, stupid or hammy girl wins the heart of the cool, sexy guy? The reverse is practically the default trope - conventionally attractive woman with ugly, out of shape guy. Every married couple in a sitcom ever, basically.

Felix was a cutie pie though, he's nothing like Homer or Peter.

I'm not sure objectively unattractive exists.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-02 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Attraction can be really hard to concretely qualify or quantify. Maybe objectively not handsome/beautiful, but some folks would fight you on that, too. I think most would agree with not conventionally handsome/beautiful/pretty/good-looking/whatever.

Stupid little headcanon with no basis in reality - because of the dynamite gal line one of the programmers for Hero's Duty was a Fix it Felix fan and based Calhoun's husband loosely on Felix. That's one of the reasons she gets triggered so badly but eventually falls for him.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-02 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Short = Objectively unattractive man?

Seriously, all the work feminism (which I am constantly reminded "Isn't just about women, it's about equality") does to counter judging women's looks, and I have never seen anyone take any steps to work against shit like this.
