Okay? But I don't think anyone is actually under the illusion that Usagi actually reciprocates? Their relationship dynamics are still fun as hell to watch though. The final season had a ton of irrelevant fillers and pretty much the only parts I really like watching was "Usagi and Seiya get up to stupid crap" hilarity.

They're 100% trolling, because they know very well how the scene in question actually went down but are really invested in mispresenting it. What I want to know is why. There is so little potential for wank here.

I'm not misinterpreting the scene at all. I know the Seiya falls on Usagi by accident and I'm not accusing Seiya of anything. I just don't find relationships where one character is pushy and has a unreciprocated crush and the other character isn't interested (in this case Usagi already has a boyfriend and even tells Seiya this :P). I realize that I reacted to your original comment much too angrily and I apologize.

NAYRT, but it's possible this just hit them on a bad day. I like Seiya, and I think their friendship was profound and entertaining, but when I was watching it for the first time I had an overly attached friend who had just flipped the line to stalker. He was harmless, but it skeeved me out and I have to be in a certain frame of mind to watch Stars even now.

I mean, I know I've occasionally overreacted to a hot button before. It's not uncommon. If they've apologized, it's probably best to let it go.

Yeah, I always liked Seiya/Usagi but Mamoru/Usagi was my fave. ;3;

They're my one true OTP. I have a preferred pairing in most fandoms, but this is the only one where I can't ship the characters with anyone else. I always skip the scene from the secret when I rewatch because it breaks my heart, lol.

But yeah, it's obvious that Usagi loves Mamoru; whether or not she could do better is kind of pointless when she only wanted him. (And Mamoru wasn't that bad at all, some people make him sound like he's the biggest jerk in the history of shoujo manga/anime.)

He wasn't, I just felt that they...didn't click very well. They never seemed to have much in common outside of ~destiny~

Preaching to the choir, here. I liked Mamoru well enough and get that he and Usagi have this great destiny together and are in love, blah blah blah, but he always felt bland and boring to me. From the very first episodes of Stars I was all over Seiya/Usagi. Seiya was just so much more fun than Mamoru.

Awww! That's adorable! I don't ship them because I have been a diehard UsaMamo shipper since I was 5, but I can see the appeal. I just don't like character bashing and saying one character 'deserves' another. When has that ever mattered in love?

Usagi and Seiya are definitely more fun, though. I like to imagine Seiya drops in on Crystal Tokyo and they have ridiculous adventures together while Mamoru runs things for a few days. Once it's not painful for Seiya, that is. Poor Seiya!

I liked Seiya/Usagi a lot, but my true sin against the fandom is that I actually really love Mamoru/Rei, haha. I don't mind Mamo/Usagi, but I've never been into Fated! Destiny! type pairings...I just can't shake the oogie feeling that neither of them had a choice in the matter, so it puts me off a little. :/
