But seriously, I know what you mean. Light had the same sorts of ideas of "purity", moral judgment and general hypocrisy that is labeled as evil coming from people like Hitler and Jack the Ripper (who probably killed only prostitutes, whom he seemed to think of as "morally corrupt.) I don't get it, is there a double standard because Light is fictional and attractive? He murdered thousands of people mercilessly, and even brought more than one innocent into the mess just to use them to further his personal ideals and to inflate his ego. Sure, everyone has thoughts about getting rid of certain people for the greater good or otherwise. Light was completely batshit insane to actually do it. Point is, he had a pretty generic human idea--that the world would be better off if all the bad people weren't there--but he became inhuman when he set off to make that idea a reality and in the process he himself turned into someone he would otherwise call evil. Hypocrisy ftw? I think people who say "if it was me I'd have done it the right way" are amusing, because honestly, anyone who would do it is already mentally unstable, and it's only a matter of time until they are just as corrupt as the man to whom they claim to be superior.

Of course, not to say I still don't find Lighto to be a fun character. I have merch of him just like I have merch of L. But when it goes beyond an interesting story and into the realm of "what if," things are entirely different.

Though my family isn't very religious, I'm always happy to see other Muslims in fandom (especially yaoi), it makes me feel not so alone. ^^ And I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as we're not harming anybody, so don't worry about it. Pardon my wording, but I think Allah could care less about whether or not His followers like to read about boy-on-boy lovin'. XD

(As an aside, look at all the homoerotic poetry by medieval Islamic authors. Some of that stuff makes ME blush, and I've been reading slash for about 7 years. Our interests are not exactly, uh, without precedent. XD)

When I ship OT3s it's not so much for the sex (though that's hot too) as it is for the emotional dynamic, because just a pairing with only 2 of the characters feels flat and stale and incomplete without that third person there. Because there is no "other half" -- they're incomplete without that third. It's like the third leg that helps a stool stand up when it'd just fall over if it only had two, you know? Especially with those three, though; they're so right together that it feels wrong splitting them up.

I have a theory that the supervillain thing is actually not that far off the mark -- spend two seasons making Claire the "special" one, upheave his entire life, make him the one everybody else in the family kind of glosses over, and then have him turn out just be a.) adopted, b.) superpowered, and c.) bitter, juuuust in time for the "Villains" story arc next season. :)

Well, that's not really what I meant (I should have explained myself better but I didn't want to be tl;dr). I think Claire is awesome and I love her relationship with Noah. While I think you are correct that Nomura has a lot of issues with his character designs...I think you are missing the point of the secret a little. It's the WEAPON. And yeah...now I won't be able to either...

(Alsom Akihiko Yoshida for the win/awesome/he wins at life...he did Tactics and Vagrant Story too. He should do all their character design--they are so much better and more interesting than Nomura's).

You know, I posted a secret before about OT3s and I got a couple replies from people in them IRL saying it worked fine for them. No jealousy, no more arguments than in a normal relationship, etc...

I can understand you saying you don't like it or that you wouldn't want part in one. But it DOES work out for some people.
