F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required.
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

General:

Fandom-general:

That's not weird at all! I wouldn't mind living with my parents forever either, but we live in different countries right now. Still, if they ever moved where I'm currently working, I'd definitely ask to move in, or at least, live very close by.

I know western cultures do see it as a maturity and independence thing, but if you're helping to pay the bills and take care of the house, I don't see how that makes you any less independent than getting married and having kids of your own.

I don't pay the bills - my father does most of the family budgeting - but I do a lot of the physical chores like cooking, cleaning, groceries - I do pay for our food - laundry and other things that they're getting older and having trouble with. I own my own car and work full time as well. Nothing is stopping me from living alone, besides that I don't like being alone and I like my family.

The reason I feel weird about it because "I like my family" is almost never given as a reason to live with them.

I want to say a +1 for helping out with bills and taking care of the house part. For me living with parents as an adult (mid-20s-ish?? Done with school, makes some money) and not contributing at all, whether that is financially or just doing chores, that's when living at home still gets a bit weird for me, because for me doing those things is part of being independent. It also makes me question a bit what people are going to do when their parents aren't there anymore if they aren't used to help out at all, but it's not my place to judge anyhow.

But really anon, as long as both you and your parents are cool with your arrangement that's great.
