Kind of weird, but if your parents are okay with it I don't see why not. Your views may change in a few years or not.

Housemates are always an option, there are people out their who think similarily. Don't want romance or kids, just a companion. You would have to suffer the initial moving in bumps and thumps of new housemates though, like everyone else, until a routine is developed.
