I'm in a similar position, OP. I'm asexual/aromantic, I live with my father, and for the most part I would like to continue living with my father for as long as possible (i.e. Until one of us dies). My father is my favorite person. He just is. I have solid friendships with my peers, but he and I have been best friends my whole life. We share rent, we share housework, and we cook for ourselves (though we do sometimes share meals). I go out when I want and come home when I want and do whatever I want around the house. The only thing I wish I could do that I can't do is wander around in my underwear. I don't feel that my independence is hindered by living with one of my parents.

I sometimes think about getting my own place, but I would basically be paying a lot more money in order to not live with my favorite person in the world. So like, why would I do that?

Good for you! Everyone has their own happy arrangements in life and so glad you're so solid with your dad!
