I heartily agree actually. I wanted to beat Shadow over the head with a clue-by-four during a good portion of American Gods, and enjoyed movie!Tristan better than the book version.

Give me Good Omens, Sandman, Books of Magic, any of the movies, and maybe even Anansi Boys (because Fat Charlie didn't bother me too much, mostly because his brother was more interesting) anyday.
