I only say that I get an impression a lot of people in other countries look at Australia and only see how big it is n a whole and not really understand that we have a hell of a lot of land that is totally unlivable. Australia cannot support hundreds of millions of people, like the USA can, we're pretty close to our limit at 30 million, because most of the damn continent is vast swathes of desert with little to no water.
Coal seam gas mining isn't help either, because it is cutting down the thin rim of livable land that exists.
But Australia did promise to take refugees. Exactly what happens with that is another issue though.
