I can relate. I love not just strong women, but female villains and straight up mean girls in fiction as well. I love that they have the guts to fuck up and destroy and dominate other people to get what they want. I could never hurt a fly myself so I guess that's a power fantasy of sorts.

I think it has more to do with conflating villain behavior with "strength" and "guts".

Well...you kind of do? Guts isn't ONLY a dude thing. Nor is strength. If they had said balls instead, then I could see SOME of their grievances with it, but only just so.

Not everyone has that wherewithal to do that, villain or no.

That's the whole appeal of villains for fuck's sake. They have a strong belief for their cause and confidence in their abilities. And yes, the guts to be complete assholes while knowing it. Just because I enjoy a villain doesn't mean I personally subscribe to whatever ideals they stand for. It's fiction and you totally can't seem to grasp the difference.

I get this. I don't think I admire the actual meanness of mean female characters, myself, but I do admire their ability to be mean/ruthless. Ultimately, I would admire them more if they chose to be kind instead. But there is real value in having the capacity for unkind traits like selfishness and insensitivity and bluntness and calculation, and perhaps even, occasionally, cruelty.
