(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know what you're talking about, so that's probably not me!

You kind of are, at least as far as PGSM is concerned. Cause it's SO cheesy. The cheese factor makes that show. Hell, tbh? I can't really take it seriously either, but I like it anyway. Plus, we get badass Princess Sailor Moon. Though I am highly disappointed they never did a PGSM with the Outers. :C

OP

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest, I know nothing of Sailor Moon, actually! I just chose the picture because it was cute. :') Oops. Sorry for leading you on.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Ditto, with the exception of game shows. Those are always fun.

I like some live-action movies and shows, but have always been generally more interested in animated things. Dunno why and I don't think there's anything wrong with it, either.

I'm actually much the same way, but the reverse with movies.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Same.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm the reverse, I generally only like to watch live-action TV and movies. There are a few animated things I enjoy, but generally someone has to actually make me watch them. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out too!

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
You are.

OP

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)

It can be hard to adjust to a different medium. For a little while I tried to get my mom interested in non-fiction comics. I knew that she would really like some of the stories, but she just couldn't get into them because of the format.

Until I was 14, I was mostly watching animated shows. I've come to really like live action shows too, but animation still holds a special place in my heart.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I really can't either, so don't worry OP! You're not alone, and don't feel bad for it! We all like what we like.

If it's not something you like, then you're not really missing out.

And there's nothing wrong with preferring one medium over others. You do you!

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Tbh, it does feel kind of childish and immature to me. I liked animated stuff when I was a kid and some (although not much) even as a teen, but then Supernatural, Sherlock, Tolkien movies and other stuff came along and I drifted into these fandomes (although I'm into others nowadays). I can't imagine ever watching anime again. The idea alone bores me and makes me roll my eyes.

On the other hand, you like what you like and it's not hurting anyone, so if it makes you happy, there's not really anything wrong with it.

Same here! Don't worry; your personal preference doesn't make you childish. Honestly, I think judging someone's maturity based on whether they like animated or live-action shows is ridiculous. Sure, anime fandom does have its immature fans. But so do live-action shows. Supernatural and Sherlock have some of the most childish fans ever.

No matter the fandom, you'll find all types of fans including mature or immature ones. This goes especially for the bigger fandoms. You like what you like and don't let anyone get you down.

You like what you like.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-13 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
But if you really feel like you are missing out, you could describe storylines or characters that you really enjoy and people could rec some live-action shows or movies for you to try out.

(Anonymous) 2015-12-14 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
For me, it's difficult to see the characters as anything but the actors. Especially when the actor or actress is everywhere. Also, too often the fandom actually treats the actor as if they are the character. For me personally, it gets too close to shipping real people and that is one of my biggest squicks.

Don't worry about it OP. Anyone that's going to judge you for that isn't worth your time. That pic is adorable. Where is it from?

(Anonymous) 2015-12-14 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
As mentioned before, you like what you like. I'm the reverse, I can't really get into current animated shows, even though many of my friends like them. I'm like the odd one out.

It comes and goes in phases for me. For a while I was all about live action stuff. Then I had a couple of years where I was all manga/anime all the time. Now I'm back into nothing but live action. I guess the next anime phase will come along sometime.
