Re: New Years Resolutions!

It won't anon :( Anyone who would be pleased at your death is a shitty person.

I hope you fail your resolution and things are better by the end of the year. 12 months is a long time.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-01 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, different anon. :)

0/10 Very poor effort, not working up to potential.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-01 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think that excuses it, tbh. The obsession over his best friend's fiancee/wife was in his head and "confessing" it would make things super awkward for her because you're asking this woman you barely know to keep what is a rather big secret from her brand new husband/your BFF.

You don't get to demand that other people give you closure so you can move on. If I develop a huge stalkery obsession over Tom Hiddleston, I don't get to show up at his house and declare my love because I think it'll be good for me, that's pretty selfish.

nayrt - To be fair, was there ever a scene where Karl argues with her about it or forces her to make that choice? I don't recall seeing one... it seems like she just gives up without even addressing the issue or explaining to Karl what the situation is. Karl isn't told what's going on, nor is he given a chance to react so we don't know if he would've been reasonable or unreasonable about the fact that her brother requires a great deal of her time.

IMO, that's what makes that storyline sad. Like the other anon said, she gives up without trying.

Yeah, but he wasn't. He was content to pine quietly and keep her at a distance, even if it made things super awkward between them and his bff.

It's why, after she finds out, and he finally decides to confess, one of the note cards he wrote, said something along the lines of basically not expecting anything from her. At all. And it's why when he finally walked away after that (though i will say her kissing him was stupid. i hated that part), he looks off, away from her house, and says "Enough" and leaves.

That was the end to his arc and, hopefully, a new beginning in which he can find someone else, who CAN love him back.

It was already awkward. She found out because she was pushing him to cough up stuff he didn't particularly wanna cough up. Not that that makes it her fault, but when he was clearly trying to say "no" she should have left it.

Instead, she finds out that he has feelings for her and that makes it super awkward.

So, he decides to confront it head on and go ahead and tell her, with NO EXPECTATIONS AT ALL, to just go ahead and let it out so he could finally move on. And he does just that when he says "Enough" at the end.

And he didn't expect closure from her. He was expecting to just go on and not ever think about that again.

And besides, it was obvious he was trying to keep all of that secret to keep it from being super awkward between them all. We dunno how his friend would have reacted since the writers didn't focus on the friend's end of everything. Apparently, the guy cared enough about his best friend to make their wedding memorable, but to also keep such a secret from them so as not to complicate matters.

And it would have stayed that way had she not pushed him over a rather small thing.

Sorry. I just believe that if it's out, you should just go ahead and be truthful. Sure, he could have told them both, and maybe he eventually tells his bff, but not doing anything would have made it worse for them both. Now he has the opportunity to move on and maybe find someone else who CAN share his heart.

Hmm, my friend went to the UK, England in particular, and she said a lot of people over there were a lot thinner than we are over here (Stateside), so, the actress may be more of what we see over here and think not "fat", but over there she may be chunkier?

That was quite sometime ago though and I'm only posting this as hearsay, so it's most likely wrong. *shrug*

But yeah, Hugh Grant's character was always so O_o?? over those comments cause they were patently untrue.

THIS. He basically just tells her to not take the call, at least for that one night. She needed to LIVE. And I think he could see that, and not just because they were half naked and they BOTH wanted each other so badly.

And yeah, she basically just tells him her brother is unwell. Like...that's not a whole lot to go on there.

And, even though it's sad, he back's off. Now whether that is because the whole situation was now super uncomfortable or because he realizes she see's her brother as more important is up in the air. But that makes it so sad.

Thing is being near a military base means it is not going a typical small town - at least in regards to population. Simply because you are going to have more people coming in from the rest of country so of course you are going to a more diverse population than a small towns that don't have something like drawing people in.

And even big cities will have different types of diversity.

It actually took me some time to realize their names are related to the fonts. I only noticed when it finally clicked that Sans is also a font/slowpoke

It honestly reminded me of Black Sails' intro... just not as good. Black Sails' intro is magnificent.

THANK YOU!!

(Anonymous) 2016-01-02 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, he never intended to confess his love? True, it seemed kinda creepy that he filmed only her, but he wanted to keep all of it to himself and even kept his distance. It was only when she showed up at his front door and wanted to see the wedding video that all of it came out, so he thought "May as well get it out of my system".

Don't get me wrong, I don't see that storyline as romantic or anything, but I hate how people keep getting it wrong all the time. It's not like he forced his love on her.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-02 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
OP: Really? Because to me it looks like dripping wax rather than the filling in of data via his radar. It shouldn't be filling in so evenly/serially; I think it should be a more patchwork filling in with gaps or holes in the data.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-02 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds like you haven't watched any anime in the past five years if you think that. :p

(Anonymous) 2016-01-02 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think you can really compare a crush on a celebrity you've never met to a crush on someone you have to see and interact with regularly. Things were already pretty awkward between them - she said earlier on that she thought he hated her. The confession meant that at least she understood where the strangeness between them was coming from, and presumably didn't feel like she needed to keep trying to improve their relationship.

Sure, if you're in unrequited love with someone, ideally you conceal it well enough that the other person has no inkling that you think of them as anything other than a casual friend/acquaintance/whatever is appropriate. But that isn't always possible.

Oh yes!

My dad is a huge Dumas fan, so I got it for him...and he loved it so much that now I have to read it!

I thought everyone in this game was going to be named after a typeface

"Toriel" does sound a lot like a typeface

Agreed. He doesn't look like Kelly, yet he's the one that embodies the essence of his character the most.

He did have the best lines in the trailer.
