Yeah that argument really doesn't make sense at all. What do your maternal grandparents' attractiveness have to do with your own? Maybe he looks more like Han's parents.

It's a dumb argument because two hot people don't always have hot kids. And he has a good look about him for the kid of Han and Leia.

However. I do adore that dad at 6′ 1″ and Mom at 5' 1" manage to have a kid at 6' 3". SPACE WIZARDS!

I don't get comments like this because I think Adam Driver is pretty attractive. He looks young, younger than my usual type. But the character is supposed to be around 30 so he works perfectly for the role. And I think he's pretty attractive.

And I also agree that both Carrie and Harrison are attractive in the OT but not amazingly so.

I realize I'm a lesbian, but I didn't know who the actor was prior to the movie and I thought he had a very pretty face. I mean, he looked very eerie, especially with that voice that made it feel like he "wasn't all there", but a handsome sort of eerie. How in the world can one think he's ugly? I don't get it.

Adam Driver isn't hideous and I think passes as having resemblance to Ford. Also the supposed guarantee that attractive people have attractive offspring always feels like something out of fanfic to me.

I have no issues with his level of attractiveness. I just would have bought him as their son more easily if his hair was a lighter shade of brown, like Han and Leia.

I think pointing out Anakin and Padme is kind of strange; They're not his parents. A fair amount of genes would come from them, but honestly how much to the point where people complain that Kylo isn't the TRUE MIX of all four of these people?

I can only assume those people are incredle idiots. You can immediately see resemblance between Adam Driver and Harrison Ford (the long, angular face and nose), much more than you can normally see between supposed relations in Hollywood movies.

Also, Adam Driver is definitely hot, in that unique angular way that Adrien Brody is (through Brody is prettier). IMO, much hotter than Hayden Christensen, who does nothing for me.

However, I completely disagree with your assessment of Harrison Ford - he might not have modern pretty boy Hollywood looks, but he has been loved and acclaimed for literally decades as an actor with classic, rugged Hollywood leading man looks and charisma. He's handsome ala Paul Newman, not pretty ala Hayden (as an example). Whether of not you find his attractive is subjective, but I feel like handsome actors with charisma will always have a place in Hollywood - which is why everyone is creaming themselves over Chris Pratt.

As for Carrie Fisher, I think what you might be seeing is a difference between the high level of styling that today's stars get and and she had in the 70s. Think about it this way - if you took a starlet from today and styled them minimally, you might not think they would get cast in a Hollywood movie either.

I'll admit my first reaction to seeing him in the movie was "wow someone got hit with the ugly stick", but now that I've had some time to think it over, I think I can see where the fangirls are coming from, and while I still think he's pretty weird-looking, it works for the concept of a lunatic Dark Side fanboy. And I think he rather resembles Revenge of the Sith-era Anakin Skywalker, which is appropriate.

Some people greatly resemble their parents, some don't. I can see a resemblance between Adam and Carrie and Harrison, but even if you don't think they look incredibly similar I don't believe that means he was wrong in the role. As for the actual acting, I believe he did a fantastic job.

As for hotness, since we're still talking about this apparently, I agree that he's appealing in an unusual way. Like, I don't think he's attractive in a conventional way, but I do think he's striking and pretty damn interesting to look at. (Which for me is sometimes more exciting than people who are totally symmetrical and near conventionally perfect.) I like his features the same way I like Cumberbatch's, and find him hot through that. *shrugs*

I don't get why it's such a big deal if Adam Driver doesn't look like Harrison Ford or Carrie Fisher. Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill don't look much to me like Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman (or I guess it should be the other way around, since the former came first), and if all the hypotheses about Rey are true she doesn't look much like Mark Hamill to me either.

I think Carrie and Ford were hot enough by today's standard's to be cast.

I don't think Driver's good looking but that doesn't mean he wasn't right for the part, or couldn't be their son. Not all families look alike.

With you bro. I think he only gets called ugly because he doesn't fit the standard Handsome Leading Man look that people expect major male characters to have (muscular build, strong jawline, straight nose, etc) so that makes him "ugly" in their eyes. I get that his looks are not everyone's cup of tea, but saying that he's ugly or weird looking just baffles me. Like they've never seen a person who's tall and a bit lanky? Who has a largish nose? His features aren't exactly uncommon.

I just hate how people seem to think defending Adam Driver's looks somehow means you don't care about the hate Carrie Fisher and John Boyega get for their looks. I mean...what?

Funny thing is, I find Adam Driver kinda odd-looking rather than attractive, so I was very surprised how downright pretty he is as Kylo. Part of it is of course the clean-shaven Eerie Pale-skinned Brunette look whereas as himself he's more olive-skinned and appears to favour hipsterish facial hair. Or maybe it's some kind of actor magic, IDEK.

I didn't see the family resemblance either at first, but it's actually pretty genius how he appears to have his father's nose and ruggedness combined oddly with Leia's soft prettiness and dark coloring.

Also, if Rey does turn out to be Luke's, she'd definitely have her father's features + the coloring of the Skywalker women down.

I feel bad for Adam Driver.

He's said himself that he thinks he has a "weird looking" face. He's also said that he's afraid of the internet with the mass shaming. In interviews seems like a pretty nice and kind of shy guy. I can't imagine being an actor in a movie and being deluged with comments about how ugly and awful-looking I am.

I know he is a celebrity and is therefore in the public eye, but I don't think the fact that he plays a villain makes this kind of behavior okay.

Also, he looks great as Kylo Ren and his voice is very nice! I loved it through the mask when it was modulated, and was surprised that it sounded really good after he took off the mask too.

I disagree that Harrison and Carrie wouldn't be able to get those parts today, namely because neither Boyega or Ridley are Hollywood gorgeous and they landed theirs.

Maybe that's what drove him to kill Han!

My first thought about this is we don't know Padme's parents, or Han's parents. The odd parts of Adam Driver's looks could be attributed to it skipping a generation or two from one of them.
