Why do you feel good, FS?

I feel good because...

1. A friend took me out for coffee, which is a rare treat for me.
2. I met my savings goal for January.
3. I asked someone if I could use them as a reference for my job hunt and she said yes.
4. I put up a short story on Amazon and sales have been pretty good. I'm not JK Rowling or anything, but I've made more sales than I expected.
5. I've got a candle lit and I'm preparing tea in my favorite mug.

Congrats on the Amazon sales! How awesome. :) What's the story about?

I'm not feeling too good today so I'm going with the generic answer of puppies and kittens.

Puppies and kittens make lots of things better.

The story was inspired by an old English fairy tale called the King of the Cats. It's about the Cat King who comes to this little town in rural Virginia where he's tricked into fighting a kitten. The kitten's sister swears revenge, and he convinces her to wait a year before challenging him. She spends the year learning how to fight, finding her brother a safe home, and awkwardly not flirting with her crush. When the King returns, it's raining hard enough to flood and the kitten has claws...

I don't often feel good lately, but I had a nice chat with my mom and she made me tea. Also I had pizza and ice cream today.Good times.

I wasn't feeling particularly great today because a friend couldn't make it to our weekly Skype session and it rained too much for me to go out, but I cheered up a bit an hour ago when I started writing something new in between watching Jeeves & Wooster and reading Jeeves in the Offing. I've been all about Wodehouse lately, and it's so nice to find a new (to me, I mean) author who has written heaps of books for me to delve into.

I'm also curious about this short story of yours, btw!

Jeeves and Wooster books and show are a favorite of mine too. Are you watching the ITV adaptation with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry?

My sister called me just to chat earlier today, which was really nice. We used to be awful to each other as kids, but our relationship has just gotten a lot better the last couple of years. One of the benefits of getting more grown up :)

Today I went to a hockey game (which a friend treated me to) and we got bobbleheads! It was one of the giveaway days which is always fun.

I went out for coffee with a friend I've known since kindergarten on Thursday and it makes me happy we're still friends.

I just slept for like...12 hours. Granted I was on meds, but nice. And I got my first Oscar winner out of the way last night.

I just came back from a walk to the grocery store that knocked out nearly half my step goal for the day and procured the ingredients for tonight's beef stew. And I have made my first spreadsheet, because that's what Flight Rising does to people.

Let's see . . . I had Chinese food for breakfast and pizza for lunch. I went for a walk with my dog and then went bike riding. I bought Girl Scout cookies, so now I have something sweet to go with my evening tea. And I'm watching Ranma 1/2 with my sisters now because it's the one anime we all like.

I'm feeling good because my students have Chinese New Year off from school, which means I also have Chinese New Year off from school.

I ordered a copy of The Waning of the Middle Ages, and it's the exact same edition I read 10 years ago in college and lost. So this is like getting back my old book, which used to make me very happy. The Waning of the Middle Ages is what I think of as a good winter book.

I'm really happy that it is not only is it almost spring training time, there has been the Series de Caribe this week, and the finals of the Australian Baseball League season. I was getting the baseball withdrawl!

We've also been spending most of today starting to cook good things for a small Super Bowl party-- my dad's best friend is coming over and that's it, but the food makes it a party, right?

1. Cat in lap.
2. Helped out my mom today by cleaning her house for her and helping her do her physio.
3. SO called and is doing really well and I'm damn proud of her.
4. New bed sheets.
5. Went to go get a slice of pizza and they had no vegetarian so the guy put a new one in for me so extra fresh pizza.

I watched two movies with friends last night (Reservoir Dogs and El Mariachi) and had a load of fun. I also took a hot bath afterwards after feeling gross all day, and dang if it didn't kick my mood up a notch.
