The books have finished, the show is over, the film is years old... but you still read fic for it.

Your vintage fandoms, what are they?

Labyrinth is one of my favorites, obviously, but I also keep going back to Hey Arnold fandom. I love to indulge my nostalgia and there's plenty of fic for my ship, since it's the main ship.

And lately I've been on a Buffy binge.

All of them. Inception, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, Firefly, Leverage, Chronicles of Riddick, The Dark Knight Rises.

Some of those are less soul crushingly empty than others.

Ranma One Half. I know it is over, and there was not much real characterization and continuity to start with, but still. That and Daria was my first real fandom and I wish something would happen to bring them back to life.

How old are we talking here? Some of the fandoms mentioned aren't that old, I'd think.

Jeeves and Wooster, The Chronicles of Chrestomanci (surprisingly not that dead), and Discworld, ofc (did you know that last year, almost every single Vetinari/Drumknott fic posted was either by me or gifted to me? At least it's not that obscure a fandom :p)

I've been rewatching Cold Case, though, so I might end up reading fics for it IDK yet.

Superman. I really loved it and I don't know why DC stopped making comics and movies with him in it. It'll have been 31 years since DC made a real Superman comic now.

I don't have any I constantly keep up with. I'd have too many and I think I'd get depressed by the lack of new material. But I do sometimes get a craving for an old fandom and dive into it again for a few days/weeks/months.

Quite a lot of them, really. I like the canon to be finished definitely before I start writing for it, and often before I start reading for it as well. Also, I like a lot of older canons just generally. My ongoing canons are fewer.

Specific older fandoms: Star Treks TOS, DS9 and TNG, Sherlock Holmes, Wild Wild West (TV series, not movie), Highlander, Labyrinth, A-Team (series again), Man From Uncle (series, though also the movie now), Sapphire and Steel, I would read The Champions fic if much existed, Magnificent Seven (mostly TV series), Discworld, UFO (1970s series), Mutant X ...

A lot, basically. Particularly sci-fi/western/action/spy series from the 60s through 90s, and fantasy movies from the 80s. Every so often I get an urge to read fic for certain things, go dig up everything the internet ever had on them (which is sometimes very, very little) and occasionally write something small for them myself.

The Mummy, sometimes anyway because the fanfic requires a bit of digging through to find anything decent.

Lord of the Rings, I still like to poke around there sometimes.

Occasionally I get the urge to go through DBZ B/V fic, but it's usually pretty short-lived because it's not really changed at all over the years(high school AU and 'three years' fic everywhere).

And I like to go back and read A-Team fanfic too, movie or TV show, I do not care as I love both.

I've probably got more but I can't remember them atm.

Starsky & Hutch, The Professionals, H:Lots, The Sentinel, Star Trek DS9 (Garrick/Bashir as that's all that really interests me), Original Battlestar Galactica, Trixie Belden, Inspector Morse, Gatchaman (aka Battle of the Planets).

All my fandoms seem to get a reboot every few years or so, so I don't know if they count or not. (Dragonball Z, Transformers, Sherlock, Star Trek.)

Harry Potter and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine are the only two that "officially" count.
