Talk about (literal) dicks and society!
(Anonymous) 2016-02-17 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)Phallcentric society?
(Anonymous) 2016-02-17 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)desperate?casual of them will get repeatedly fucked by dudes or suck guys off all the while claiming they're "totes str8" and stuff. Why do you think this is? I was harassed by guys on OKcupid because I'm non-op and I pass (they can see by my photos that I'm passing, and I have 'non-op' in my profile to alert potential new friends/lovers that I'm really not likely to be getting my business changed for a loooong time, if ever. (And I like using it on fellow ladies. :X)) I finally figured out how to filter a good chunk of chasers out by selecting the option not to be seen by straight men, but eh, it wasn't perfect. They harassed me even after I let them know that I'm only really looking for other women (which it states right in my profile, the only reason I don't turn off the "guy" option is because I'm also open to dating trans men right now) and I've heard some positively horrendous entitlement. (Apparently the only people that will ever willingly date me are transsexual obsessed cis guys! Imagine that, I say, as my girlfriend naps on the couch next to me!)Why are guys so obsessed with penis. How come I haven't seen even one comparative post of a girl going "you know, I'm totally straight but I just really want to plant my face into some pussy right now". In fact, I usually see the opposite, women talking about how "disgusting" vaginas are. Is this internalized misogyny? A phallocentric society? Both? Why does everyone act like penises are the amazing genital? I'll be honest, while I'm okay with my own, and I've played around with others, generally I prefer my relationships to be one penis only (but I don't discriminate based on genitals, because for me personally I think that's kinda dumb since I don't have any active aversion to them or anything) and I don't see what the huge deal is about dicks! Has anybody delved into this before at all?
Re: Phallcentric society?
(Anonymous) 2016-02-17 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)On the other hand, penises are also often treated as a joke and as something unattractive and purely functional. I've legitimately heard straight women with no interest in other women whatsoever say the female form is meant to be aesthetically pleasing and the male form was designed for function.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-17 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)Or the infinitesimal percentage of people who use OKCupid.
Re: Phallcentric society?
(Anonymous) 2016-02-17 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)Maybe it's just the taboo, for some of them?
The ones who fuck men might be bi, but unwilling to accept it (to be clear, I don't think this about guys who are attracted to trans women but not men).
The entitlement is pretty common to straight guys. They want you, you should belong to them!!! And if you don't want to, then you're horribly unattractive (REALLY, they only just hit on you out of pity!) and no one else will want you.
Re: Phallcentric society?
(Anonymous) 2016-02-18 12:00 am (UTC)(link)And a lot of the lesbian oral sex videos are aimed toward het men, so women aren't targeted with that as much.
I've never heard either gender say "I really wanna rim someone" either.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-18 12:02 am (UTC)(link)like straight girls can complement each other on how they look and even get a little touchy feel without anyone suspecting they're gay
but if a straight dude does any of that outside of sports he probably likes it up the ass
it's maybe a closetedness and a want of the forbidden or some shit

I guarantee you there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of essays floating around on this very topic. They probably have some length points about social norms and whatnot. They're probably pretty easy to look up on google scholar if you're really interested.
I personally have no notion of any genitals being superior (being a secure bisexual man), but in my experience it boils down to three scenarios:
1. Male genital preoccupation influencing sexual fantasy. These guys are either insecure or obsessed, and they fixate so much that they can't separate their thoughts from what they assume is sexual attraction.
2. Men being in denial about being gay or bisexual because of religious or parental influence. "I'm STRAIGHT, but..."
3. Trans fetishism. Just your garden variety chasers, who get off on something they see as exotic or taboo. Has very little to do with penises or penis worship and more to do with othering trans people.

It's reddit. It's 74% male. There's a lot less posts from girls in the first place. There are straight girls out there with the attitude you've described, but whether they're in numbers comparative with males with that attitude, you're not going to find the answer by looking at a site like Reddit or Pinterest, where the gender makeup is skewed out of proportion.
Re: Phallcentric society?
(Anonymous) 2016-02-18 02:00 am (UTC)(link)Second, I do think OP is on to something though. I've basically never seen women profess this sort of thing. If anything it's more like "oh women are so pretty, boobs are so nice...ewww vagina I barely want to touch my OWN much less someone else's", so I do think dicks are put on a pedestal.

(Anonymous) 2016-02-18 12:09 am (UTC)(link)Did you know, according to a "hot woman dying of cancer," that loads of women fuck their dogs? That's why you see so many women out walking dogs, if you were ever confused as to why a group or people that comprises slightly more than half the population is often seen in the company of the most popular type of pet.
