most of his ideas are so insane that congress will never ever approve them, congress is more likely to solidify against trump than cruz, and id rather have an egomaniac idiot than a religious zealot

Trump for sure. Because every hates him, he's crazy and inconsistent. No one would support anything he did. And because he's so inconsistent, he'd probably randomly offend the religious right.

The problem with Cruz, while at least he is a proper politician and I know where he stands... I hate everywhere he stands. He is the radical religious right. Trump is insane, and he's appealing to religious bigots right now but I don't think Trump actually gives a shit about religious issues and I don't see him actively pursuing, say, banning abortion or gay marriage. I really don't. Cruz absolutely will do that.

Cruz. I keep hearing people frame Trump as the "lesser evil" or some shit... but how have people not noticed that he is a completely insane con artist who calls women whores and thinks he can ban Muslims? Cruz has extreme positions, but at the end of the day he's a conventional politician.

Trump. It isn't even a hard choice.

Cruz genuinely flat out believes we are living in the end of days and it is his job to bring about Book of Revelation. That is something that should automatically bar anyone from being allowed on the same mother fucking continent as the nuclear football, never mind being allowed in the Oval Office. Trump at least will not nuke anything, on purpose.

Watching Trump already convincing thinking, intelligent people that he's got a reasonable bone in his body and that he won't be so bad as President - even while he's still running for the Republican nomination and is being as crazy as possible - is just... it's like slowly watching yourself go mad. This is how we're going to elect the fucker, and it feels like there's nothing that I can do to change it, and it's so awful to watch. Every time I hear it from someone I go a little more crazy.
