Hey, I'm honestly sorry that whatever happened to you at CFUD was so upsetting. No one deserves to have been made so angry and unhappy by a pretendy fun time game. But - doesn't commenting here bring up all those feelings again? It seems to me it'd make you feel better sooner to just go do something else when you see a CFUD secret that upsets you, instead of drawing out the feelings by baiting people in the comments. Sorry again.

I'm still in CFUD, so no, this is not a butthurt former player. I *have* fun at CFUD, but only by playing with a very small, limited group of people - which means I play maybe 1/10th as much as the average CFUDer. But I *prefer* it that way because it means I don't have to deal with the majority of total asstards who keep attacking other players right, left and center.

I've subtly tried to change people's behavior or at least make them consider other peoples' feelings, but it's all fruitless because the offenders just keep reinforcing themselves in their atrocious behavior. It'd be nice if the mods interfered and put their feet down, but as I've said before - they're among the worst offenders.

I don't hate everyone. I do play with some people, after all, but they've proven to be actual decent human beings... whereas five times as many people have worked themselves onto my total shit list. I'm very patient, so for them to end up there took a lot of work on their part. That's how CFUD is, unfortunately. For every nice person you get ten utter assholes.

I'm in CFUD myself, and I don't try to pretend we don't have problems (we do) and I don't pretend everyone loves me (they don't), but I've ... largely, seen a way higher number of intelligent and nice people on CFUD than I've seen irritating dumbasses. Maybe CFUD doesn't attract the kind of people you connect with.

Yeah uh, I'm sorry you feel that way, but considering the amount of bitterness and hatred that's shining through . . . maybe you might wanna take a step back or step down. You may have fun at CFUD, but if you're that pissed off at it . . . frankly, I wouldn't want to play with someone who had such a hatred for the game.

Yeah, CFUD isn't perfect but it's just like any other place on the Internet. And for every person who IS "a total asstard" we have two who are some of the sweetest people I've ever met.

And really? I LOVE the mods and they think they do a fantastic job for oh, being human.

Oh, we've played. It's been a while since your current characters aren't exactly people my current characters would interact with, but we've played quite a chunk. I've really enjoyed playing with you, too, because I think you're one of the best and most human people in CFUD, period.

Ignoring the fact that playing with a small, limited group of people goes against what cfud is about and the fact that your idea of leading by example seems to be calling everyone brainwashed, lying bullies...

Do you speak up about it when you see it? Or is your idea of 'subtle influence' sitting in silence and getting passive aggressive on people who don't even know they're upsetting you?

Well, the thing is - when I tried to speak up in a public post, my regular journal and email got hit with a staggering amount of anonymous comments full of vitriol and porn spam. And when I disabled anonymous comments on my regular journal, they went to doing the same on my RP journals. I've mailed the mods about it and tried to talk to them about it on IRC (which I loathe, so being forced to it felt like being put in a thumb screw) and got thoroughly and entirely ignored.

What does that tell you?

I don't think that's necessarily true. RANDOM TWO CENTS lol. It's a big enough game that, as long as you're treating people alright, there's no obligation to play with a certain amount of people.

It's all about comfort levels.
