This happened to me with a D&D campaign...I had made up a whole series of plot tokens for the party to go collect, based on the elements with a fifth, void, to round them out. One of my friends had made his character using the Oriental Adventures book, which I didn't have, and started asking technical questions of my NPC because he thought I must have read the guide. Aaaagh.

While Vega was not my first fanboy-experience, I can agree that he is a very fabulous creation and would like to assuage your fears: the home console versions will apparently have all the classic SF2 fighters in it. I don't think they're about to exclude Vega. 24. Don't be afraid to start writing that original fiction. Sure Fan-fic is great and draws bigger crowds, but if you have the talent and belief in yourself to write Original Fic then do so. You'd be surprised by how many of your f-list give it a chance.

Because obviously everyone should automatically know that you were raped by a man who had a Zac Quinto like voice. Just obviously.

So yeah, don't think you are so much better than your friend or that she's a prick for bringing up something that happened in your past inadvertently.

It makes you a whole lot worse than her to think you are justified in being angry with her when you haven't given her a reason to make her stop.
