It's kind of the opposite for me. I am only interested in fandom at all because of the rampant misogyny, racism, xenophobia, and perversion. I don't really watch TV, read manga/comics/fantasy novels, play video games or whatever, and when I do I'm not interested at all in any fanfiction, fanart, or anything like that. I prefer solitary fangirling.

But I read general fan communities (like this one, and fandom_wank) because I find it educating to know about other people's horribly prejudiced worldviews, and to be reminded that, as a species, we have a *long* way to go before we can claim to be progressive thinkers at all.

Fandom reminds me of what I try to fight against in real life.

I ship them because I find their interaction interesting. Platonic or romantic. Eve seems like the kind of girl Luck appears to have a soft spot for and the whole "seal brother in a can" is nearly over as issue in the novel for what I heard. Plus, IT'LL BREAK DALLAS' BRAIN.

Baccano! is for stupid commotion lol stuff and action. I think the whole thing would be hilarious.

I don't know who told you that, but english is actually commonly known as one of the easiest languages to learn, very little grammar does that... now talk about german and I would believe you in a heartbeat (neither of those are my native languages, I'm a french speaker).

As for japanese, it's much easier than most people believe, at least as a spoken language. I will admit than learning how to write it is different, but if you like it then it should come to you fast ;)

PS : 90% of the people I know who learned/want to learn Japanese are doing it because of animes and mangas, there is no shame in that. Nobody insults people for learning ancient greek or latin because archeology is their hobby ;)
