Agreed on both counts. If only because poor Mrs. Lovett really needs to get some. And half the time it seems like canon—"rumpled bedding," anyone?—while the other half makes me wonder just how exactly that would work.

Also, what production is that on the right? I know it's not the original, and it doesn't look like the revival either.

50. I actually had a friend IRL who liked it, and I was like, "WTF, someone WHO WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS LIKE SLASH is reading this manga?!" I just say "It's this ridiculous manga about tennis." And then we all laugh and it's fun. I wish Konomi had thought of a more subtle name, though. Saying that my favorite manga was about tennis was really awkward.

13. ...Beautiful? Not the word I would personally use to describe him (whoever the hell he is).

14. Agreed...to a point. The Yu Yu Hakusho abridged series is of a higher caliber than the others. Not as good as Yugioh TAS, but still pretty good. I think the biggest problem is that a lot of the people making the rip-offs are, for the most part, not very good at constructing jokes. Part of LittleKuriboh's genius is that he genuinely has his own brand of satirical humor with consistent comedic devices, whereas most of the knockoffs just...don't.

However, I disagree that people should stop making them. The internet is for everyone, even people who make unfunny parodies.

48. If you want thoughtful character development in canon, shounen harem romances are probably not for you (I say this as a fan of the genre). Shoujo and seinen titles, in my experience, tend to resolve things in a much more satisfying, insightful and uplifting way.

53. When I was still into Yugioh, I enjoyed that arc quite a bit. Noa was a tragic character with good character development.

3. I wouldn't say you're white trash for thinking the show's realistic. Growing up, I never had the perfectly furnished dining rooms or the mass family meals with matching crockery and table settings like in so many family dramas, and it always made me feel happy whenever I watched roseanne to see that hey! people in my socio-economic bracket actually do exist in the media! It's just because so much of tv seeks to be aspirational and we get suckered into thinking that the perfect domestic front or the metropolitan high life is the norm. I liked it specifically for that.

I totally agree. I love both, but I do prefer the play, and the fact that some people worship the musical without knowing the background makes me sad. Especially because the play, I thought, was way more intense.

It's also because the Man in the Mask didn't get an awesome song. :(

what's weird is, I identify with Eponine moreso than almost any character on B'way, but that song doesn't make me cry, this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GHTI4DV_gY) one does.
I think it's mainly because when I first saw Les Mis with my dad, Bring Him Home made him cry, and my dad doesn't cry very often.
