All I'm seeing is that they are both violent murderers who enjoy rape and torture. I hardly think their victims care much in whether or not they are capable of forming meaningful emotional bonds.

But we are not talking about their victims. We are talking about their SOs/family. You are making a completely different argument from the one the thread is about.

The point is, both men are disgusting and horrible, and if we're in it for "healthy" relationships, I fail to see how one is morally superior to the other. Both are fucked up.

It's not about moral superiority at all, that is NOT the argument being made. You can be a horrible person and still be capable of forming a loving relationship with someone. Dany and Drogo DID love each other; though I certainly wouldn't call their relationship healthy, that's not the point that's being argued. (You quoted the word "healthy"; did I say that or someone else?) Drogo was capable of feeling love because he was not a psychopath. That is the point.

All I'm seeing is

I respect that you acknowledge that the malfunction is at your end. That's more than a lot of people can do. I wish you the best of luck in learning to understand things better, and I hope one day you can look back on this post and go "It was true... that was all I could see back then" and feel a swell of pride at how much you've grown.

lmao the scary thing is it seems you actually think Drogo is an okay dude because his ~culture~ says the atrocities he commits are okay. GoT fans are cray.

Cause cultural moral relativism is a GoT fandom phenomenon. /eyeroll

Cultural relativity is always a bullshit concept to make an excuse for actions that are objectively immoral. Applying it to fantasy fiction is even dumber than using it irl.

...I actually think applying it to fantasy fiction makes more sense than applying it IRL? seeing as nobody is actually hurt by things that aren't actually happening

Drogo is acting in the way that his culture had socialised him to act. His behaviour is acceptable in his culture. Of course this doesn't make his behaviour acceptable to our moral standards but it does mean that in his own context his behaviour is normal and he would not be considered to have any kind of mental illness.

Ramsey's is not. People in Ramsey's society think his behaviour is utterly and comprehensively wrong. In his context he would be considered to have something wrong with him mentally.

I think that's all they're saying.

Why in the hell are you even watching GoT lmao
