I tried to like Dahlia (and Gant, and Karma, and even Maya...), but honestly, I think she's just a total fucking bitch. D8 She's very pretty (and DUDE, Dahlia/Iris? I can SMELL the S/M in that relationship) but just gahhh. Dx

*sigh* It depresses me that bastards are loved for being bastards, but bitches are hated for being bitches. A male villain as devious and evil as Dahlia would be adored for the exact same things she gets bashed for.

Mm, I respectfully disagree. Dahlia's evil spawned from being raised crappy parents with self-centered attitudes that would inevitably rub off on her. Gant, von Karma, and Matt were evil out of paranoia. Kristoph was just insane.

See, I imagine Dahlia as a problem child who could theoretically have grown up semi-normal given the right conditions -- and instead was given the perfect conditions to develop into the sociopath we know and love hate love. At least, given Iris's opinion of her.

Kristoph didn't get any history fleshing-out like Dahlia did... but he's still around, so I imagine we may get it in GS5 or beyond.

And yeah, all the main villains are set up to be unsympathetic and pretty much straight-up evil. The minor villains fall into shades of grey sometimes, though.

But...Kristoph was evil just because. Dahlia at least had a backstory and substantial reasoning behind her actions, whereas Kristoph was just batshit insane.

I'm not trying to force you to like her or anything, but calling her a bitch while liking male characters who did even worse things is just seems so...ehhh.

I kind-of agree, but I would rather think that the way she said it is just personality-speaking. I mean, it definitely would offend people, but in later comments she just says she just doesn't like the female character. She asked if she was dealing with a feminist because then it would prove that she is dealing with people who are on her back just because she said she didn't like a female character, or that the person could be one of those "crazy over-the-top feminists" that aren't really feminist. I don't know if you're the same person who said "too stupid to live", but if you are, then follow your own advice.
