Chili, garlic, onion, fried ground beef, fried cubed beef, more onions, more chili, red, green and yellow tomatoes, some regular red peppers. No fucking beans ever! And salt. Add more lack of beans. Boil up some rice, drain it off, add it into the chili, simmer it for an hour then let it cool then simmer it for an hour again.

But beans are so gooooooooooood

They are Satan's food. Satan's food for all his little demons. I loathe beans, well legumes in general, but they and peas are used as filler in everything. Never add beans to anything.

NAYRT but now I'm really curious: what's wrong with beans? Setting aside whether they have a place in chili. Is it a texture thing or what?

I find most legumes to taste horrible, but I cannot escape them due to their use as filler in other foods. The first is reason enough to dislike them, that I will probably be forced to consume them if I eat any processed food or have anything at a restaurant just adds that extra level of hostility to my dislike.

Wow. I feel like I almost never encounter beans in processed food or restaurant meals. In fact, I'd like to encounter them more. Send me your beans, anon!

Certainly, I'll need your name, address, and for shipping purposes your bank name, account number and sort code, then you should receive what is coming to you within three business days.

as someone with an allergy to green peas, which show up EVERYWHERE for NO REASON, I heartily second this.

Preach it. Peas and beans are cheap foods, they count towards whatever arbitrary measure your government uses as a health measure, and they are a lazy way to add colour and texture. This means virtually every producer will shove them in stuff as both a cost cutting measure and a checkbox on the "health" statement. It isn't that I object to that per se, it is that every brand uses them in virtually all of their food, and every restaurant shoves them onto plates as a quick filler to let their cook get through multiple orders as fast as possible.

At least have a couple of meals without them stuffed in there. Even vegans have better odds on beating meat in a steak house (a meal that will definitely feature beans and peas) than a legume-a-phobe.
