Cute, but he left Middle-earth together with Frodo&co. The Third Age actually ends with his departure.

Dude I'm sure OP knows that, considering it's right there in the book, but there's no surefire immunity against fading or death in Valinor. It's only called the undying lands because it's populated by immortal races (Ainur and elves).

I personally don't agree with the headcanon either but it's really uncool to be so snide about it, especially since the OP openly admits it has more to do with projecting their RL issues than about analysis. I can understand how there could be an id-ish appeal to indulging in the fantasy of a woman meaning so much to her father that he can't live without her.

... which is probably why OP used the term "headcanon" instead of "canon".

Er, that's not how headcanons work. Headcanons are extra-canonical, not in conflict with canon. OP says it's their headcanon this happened after Arwen's *death*, not marriage, and there's nothing in canon that says elves cannot fade after going to the west (see: Miriel Serinde).

this. if it's in direct contradiction with canon, then it's just an AU

Pointless nitpick - I so dislike "Serinde". Her name should rightfully be Therindë. (That was what "The Shibboleth of Fëanor" was about.)
