Start some Fandom wank. Or non-fandom wank.

If you're tracing your own art, you're not doing anything wrong. As long as you're not tracing and stealing credit for someone else's art you should be fine.

As someone who's used animation with onion skin functions, it's not really that different to import bits of your own art, trace off that and alter as needed.

Why would it be wrong to trace your own art?

I don't know, but I've encountered viewpoints of "tracing of any kind is wrong" due to people who trace to steal art. And some art communities that still seem to view tracing and stealing as the same thing.

Well, that is just stupid. It is tracing your own work. You can't steal from yourself!

link to it or I'm skeptical anyone, anywhere would say tracing your own drawings is wrong

I'd say about... 20 regular posters, 40 or 50 lurkers? Complete guess.

So, I mean, yes, your point is kind of accurate still.

Non to mention misogynist, classist, anti-Semitic, and America-centric.

Crazy that the comm where 90+% of the people in are from America is America-centric.

Yep. But there are nice people here who aren't like that, which is why I stay.

I think Tony's side was wrong in Civil War. Historically, they had no reason to trust the government (considering ever other governmental body they had previously worked with turned out to be evil). But even if I had agreed with his point, Tony completely lost any footing he had when he brought a teenager to another country to fight for him.

"Boy. I am so guilty over the death of this one kid during one of our times saving the world. So guilty that I am going to make deals with the guy [Ross] who has tried to capture and kill my best buddy Bruce. Also, I am going to take this young boy across the world and lie to his guardian about it. Oh, and I am not going to fully inform him about why he fighting. This totally makes sense!"

Also, I think Bruce and Thor were not in the film because there is no way the writers could have found a way to put one of them on Tony's side.

SHIT U GOT ME

A) The whole "picking sides" thing is contrived drama but I think they actually did a great job of balancing between the two sides.

B) I think Tony is absolutely right: unchecked power is always dangerous, the Avengers' unchecked power has historically proven to be dangerous (in terms of body count and financial damage, every bit as dangerous as those evil governments, frankly), and even aside from that it's better if they have a say in the limits put on them rather than getting rounded up and smashed out later.

C) First of all, the filmmakers literally had to find a way to put Spiderman in for money reasons, so like. At the end of the day you have to factor that in. But aside from *that* Tony's attitude is very clear: the tragedy of the other kid's death was that he was uninvolved, innocent, a civilian, not that he was a kid (was he even a kid? I thought he was at college). It's really clear in the movies that Tony doesn't really distinguish kids from adults (which makes sense, given his own childhood), but he takes the distinction between soldiers and civilians VERY seriously. It's fair to still criticize him, but within his own terms recruiting Peter really isn't as hypocritical as everyone acts like it is.

Are you implying that Tony "We're not soldiers" Stark thinks a teenage boy is a soldier??

Re: Wank Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-08-20 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
But they didn't have a say in the limits. The Accords were written before they were involved. And you don't sign a contract in the hopes you can change it LATER. Any lawyer would think you are an idiot to do that.

I think DCEU fans are some of the most pretentious fuckwits I've come across in a long time.

No I don't think MoS and BvS are as godawful as people think they are and I'm sure 5-10 years from now people are going to have more measured opinions regarding them. But you're seriously kidding yourself if you think there's going to be some massive critical reappraisal in the future where they're hailed as unappreciated works of genius.

And people trying to claim Zack Snyder is just 3deep5me and I can't appreciate his subtlety...were we even WATCHING the same movies? You could make a drinking game out of all the Jesus Poses in MoS.

+1000 on the basis of the one DCEU fanboy I'm Facebook friends with. I've thought he was pretentious long before the DCEU even existed, but now that is in existence, he's somehow even more insufferable.

AYRT

I'm friends with a few DCEU people and for the most part they're pretty chill. But every once in a while they'll reblog a post defending the DCEU and my god, the holier-than-thou attitude. And how WB/DC TOTALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

To borrow from a a great quote about Brian DePalma, the DCEU doesn't have fans. It has apologists.

Well I'm slowly starting some wank in a pure bred dog forum because some breeders think there's nothing wrong with another breeder leaving her dog in a car on a 38c day (100.4f) for over 4 hours.

And that the true wrong is that she got a $5k fine and the dog taken off her.

Everytime they lie. I will just post a new resource showing they lied.

Like claiming the court is demanding the RSPCA return the dog. When actually, here's the supreme courts verdict that the fine should be upheld and the dog rehomed.

That's not so much "wank" as it is "being a moral human being"

Also, IDK much about how dog breeding works but...you would think dog breeders would be MORE concientious than the general population about keeping their animals healthy, and less tolerant of that kind of abuse.

This past year I have been finding out otherwise. If anything, the registered breeders are worse than the unregistered. -_- Flipping farmers treat their hunting dogs better than these people treat their dogs.

One moment of horrified realisation the even the supposed responsible pure breeders are dipshits was one telling me mendelian genetics doesn't apply to dogs, only beans.

...it still applies to dogs you dumb shit. It applies to everything.
