Although, I actually like my incest pairings to be on the healthier end of the spectrum (not co-dependent for example) but inherently, they're a little messed up by their nature.

A lot of people make Death Note fanvids set to songs from Doctor Horrible. In different videos, L can stand in for either Doctor Horrible's true love or his most hated rival. That says it all, doesn't it?

Cersi/Jaime. Obviously there's the incest thing, but I'm more interested in the manipulation and devotion in their relationship. He's more devoted to her in the most noticeable ways, but she is devoted to him in other ways he isn't to her. He isn't the poor little lamb under her thumb so much of fandom seems to make him out to be; he can give as good as he gets, it's more a matter of if he does it not and why. They're just really screwed up and fascinating, more so since they're twins.

Books or show? I mean, either way I'd argue that she isn't actually devoted to him at all, just possessive, but I could see more of an argument for it on the show.

Rose/Pearl from Steven Universe. Pearl truly cared about Rose, and it seems like Rose felt the same, but judging from what's been shown so far, each of them enabled the other's biggest flaws (Pearl's feelings of worthlessness/lack of self-reliance and Rose's tendency to mask her true feelings.

Erik/Christine. I was an ugly lonely teen and sympathized with the Phantom while also thinking that even if no good looking guys would have me unless it was to mock me later, maybe I could at least meet a really talented ugly guy who wouldn't care if I was ugly too. Except for the part where Christine was beautiful and talented and there aren't really any Beauty and the Beast stories where the Beast is the girl unless she just needs to take off her glasses and get a makeover.

Khan Noonien Singh/Leonard McCoy (ST:TOS) - Because that scene with the bloody scalpel in "Space Seed" and all the inherent power play and defiance between them

Stephen Black/The Gentleman With The Thistledown Hair (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell) - Because the Gentleman legitimately thinks he's being nice and Stephen has so few people who honestly want to help him that he can't help but love the fairy even as he's absolutely terrified of him, and it's so horrible and so compelling

Pitch Black/Sandman (RotG) - I'll be honest, at least partially because of the black-and-gold colour scheme, because dreams-and-nightmares, because Pitch killed Sandy and is terrified of him, because there's so much potential for cruel kindness on Sandy's part

Doctor/Master (DW) - Because history, all the tangled, painful, murderous and sacrificial history, because there's bits of them that love each other still, bits of them willing to die for each other, bits of both of them willing to kill each other, and that old and that intense a set of emotions really revs my engines

+1 to Pitch Black/Sandman

For pretty much the same reasons as you. And oh, the aesthetic!

I haven't read the books the movie is based on, but movie!Sandman is the bestest! He's so glittery golden chubby cute with his itty bitty hands and his itty bitty feet, but he's also so powerful and the only one Pitch Black is actually afraid of and sweet and cruel at the same time. <3 The other characters can just go home honestly. Sandy needs a silent solo movie.

Sauron/Celebrimbor is my favorite pairing that is awful for both of them. Mostly for Celebrimbor. I like angst. I like villain/hero pairings. I like the characters. I just like everything about this pairing.

Melkor/Sauron is my favorite pairing that I think is actually healthy in the strictly romantic bits, but they are villains so they are unhealthy in the sense of being awful people who are horrible to everyone but each other. And they bring out the worst in each other. But that's one thing that makes them interesting. I love the idea of villains who are evil and awful and yet still capable of love.

I know they brought out the worst in each other, but something in that MUTUALLY unhealthy dynamic really draws my interest into their mental states.

Probably Reylo. So much of the fandom vehemently hates the pairing and anyone who ships it, because omgz there's like no way they'd ever get together and he's a terrible person and she deserves better, and so on and so forth. Well, I ship it because their dynamic is so un-shippy in canon, dammit. I ship it because he's an evil creep and she hates him. I ship it because unfeasible enemy ships are my cocaine. And with all the vocal detractors, I kind of ship it even more, just out of spite.

I see Roy/Riza as codependant and deeply messed up and I like it that way. In fact I can't stand them in happy fluffy mode anymore.
