I REALLY don't like these three. I don't care about them. I don't buy Peridot's redemption. I don't think Lapis's response to events is well written. I don't want Jasper to be a regular cast member. Their designs are badly done compared to the Crystal Gems. Their characterization is boring or makes no sense. Peridot is my least favorite character in the whole show because she is the Homeworld gem that takes up the most screentime. I suspect this means I'm biased in a "bitch eating crackers" type of way because it's unlikely that the creators just fail every time they touch them.

I think there is a point where it gets harder to be impressed with things. I don't think there a point where you can't find anything good, it just starts to take a lot more effort to hunt down things that you can enjoy, and they tend to be weirder and not necessarily as well known. Just my experience of course.

My dad was watching Casablanca tonight, and somewhat out of nowhere he turns and we have this slightly odd conversation:

Dad: "So, which would you pick, Rick Blaine or Victor Lazlo?"
Me, mostly on autopilot: "Louis."
Dad: "... You like sleazy coercive rapists?" (Which, fair, but)
Me, with maybe an air of revelation: "No, I like small, neat men with lovely voices."

So basically tonight resulted in my realising semi-accidentally that my ideal man is Claude Rains, and also my dad staring at me in bemusement for several seconds before shrugging and going basically 'okay then, whatever turns you on'.

(For the record, he'd pick Rick Blaine, mostly because Humphrey Bogart, so I'd say we're fairly even there).

I hit that point, so I started reading fanfiction for all the stuff that was missing from most published work and shows. Then I got saturated on fanfiction, so I started rp'ing for what was missing from fanfiction. Then I got saturated on rp'ing and I don't know where to turn for novelty now.

Weekend Plans!

I have a three day weekend because of stupid Labor Day. :( My entire weekend will be spent playing WoW as much as possible. I've had to wait to play until my sister finally got her copy. She did, so now it is only a matter of her getting home and off we go!

This is one of those TV relationships that is so painful for me, and yet so lovely and well-done and something I want to watch. So, yes. IA.

I feel like in general this show has found the perfect balance of what I like in a crime show. It is mostly case stuff, but we do get glimpses into everyone's life outside the team. I'm more interested in Hotch's family and JJ's, but I do like the exploring of mental illness with the Reids.

Packing because I fly out for my Spanish program Sunday morning. Other than that, nothing. Working on a Doctor Who rewatch. Maybe swimming on Saturday.

She comes across as perceptive and smart and empathetic in her brief screen time, and her attitude towards socializing and stuff reads as anxious and ambivalent in a way that I and a bunch of other people find relatable.

It's not hard to account for, even if her character doesn't speak to you.

Well, my Friday started off pretty poorly. I was having terrible cramps so my sister offered my some Midol. I've never had Midol before and I didn't know much about it. I decided to take it right before bed. After laying in bed for two hours and having to get up every 20 minutes to pee, I hopped on my phone to figure out what was going on.

Apparently two Midol have the equivalent amount of caffeine as 1 1/2 cups of coffee. For people who drink a lot of caffeine, that'd probably not bother them. For someone like me, who has not drank a caffeinated beverage in about 5 years...I was up until 3am. I hopped out of bed at 6am still a bit wired.

I crashed around two today. :/
