You can look great even without the "ideal" figure or whatever - cosplay is about fun! And learning to sew is not that difficult.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-26 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)(Though as a big breasted cosplayer I will say while crossplay is definitely harder, big breasts aren't that limiting imo)

(Anonymous) 2016-10-27 11:34 am (UTC)(link)I'm an adult woman (although i look a lot younger than I am, which is why I consider Lilith and Jinx to be options) and when I think especially of western characters, especially superheros, it's D cups everywhere.
I think crossplay is really cool but I'm 5'2 and despite being flat I have lady hips.
I have a lot of options for generic characters in settings (Warhammer, World of Warcraft, Darksouls) so I'm not just feeling sorry for myself, but it bums me out that I feel like all the good female characters who aren't pre-teens are uniformly busty. Especially superheros.

Also, nowadays you can get really nice looking boob prosthetics, or tutorials on how to make your own. Go forth and be the sexy girl you want to be!

(Anonymous) 2016-10-26 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)Also I would sell my soul to be able to make a very comfortable costume of Strongarm from Transformers RID (2015) with limited funds and limited resources...

Personally, I've always wanted to do Lord of Nightmares!Lina myself, but I've never felt like I could quite pull it off. Someday, maybe, but for now, I figure I'll play to my strengths. >>;

(Anonymous) 2016-10-26 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)All the characters I'd like to cosplay are male, and there's no way I'd want to do female versions of them.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-27 12:25 am (UTC)(link)But do it anyway. Some of the most positive attention I've gotten has been while cosplaying characters who couldn't be less like me physically and I've always been ten thousand times happier cosplaying the characters I loved rather than the ones I looked the most like.

But really just, props for use of a Slayers image.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-27 03:59 am (UTC)(link)Even when I'm not cosplaying at conventions, men laugh and point, 'They're not real!'
Binding sucks and does not work for me.
On a side note, it also sucks when you have to keep buying a shirt size up because oh, you're boobs are too big. So, I envy you OP.

On a more serious note, cosplay should be about fun. Do you have to look exactly like the character? No. I mostly cosplay Eli Wallace from Stargate Universe, because it's simple and easy. If I feel like getting dressed up I pull out my Black Widow dress and dress myself up...and then get asked if I'm Peggy Carter because of the cut of the dress and accessories I use.
I recently did Swerve from MTMTE, which was really all about making the blaster he uses. Am I going to look like a robot who runs a bar? No. Am I going to have fun running around in a Hawaiian shirt carrying a colorful blaster that lights up? Yes, and I did. Find that one costume or piece that you have to have...that when you see it all you can think is 'I need this, I need to make this' and then build the rest of the cosplay around it, but have fun. I was thrilled when I finally put that blaster together, but what was even more fun was seeing how happy it made everyone else. The look of absolute delight on a kid and his dad's face when the kid told me he like my blaster and I asked if he wanted to take a picture of it. The grins on the dealers faces when I asked them to hold it while I get my money out to buy something. The smiles as people told me they liked it and then how those smiles got bigger when I told them it lights up. You don't have to look exactly like the character, just have fun.

(Anonymous) 2016-10-27 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)I admit though that the technology is there and I'm being whiny. That's why it's a secret.
Serious question though: I feel for you ladies who have the reverse problem, but who are the flat chested characters you're thinking of? Because whenever I've tried looking up flat characters I usually just find characters who are underage and japanese.
