I love this series, but then I read them marathon-style and they kind of blurred into one big book for me. It might not work for some people, but I kinda liked the overall theme of 'he thinks he's just some dude but actually he's THE SHIT', like I enjoyed seeing him triumph much more than I would have if he was full of himself.

I got into these fandoms around the same time, and met a very good friend who I loved talking to and sending fandom related stuff about.

Around the same time, my parents got divorced after spending the last few years of their marriage constantly arguing. I feel into a very bad depression afterwards. And by bad, I mean 'wearing the same outfit five days in a row, going whole days without eating, staying in bed all day staring at the ceiling' bad.

Talking to my friend about fandom stuff was one of the only things keeping me from going completely over the edge.

Now it's been a few years. Our interests have changed. We're both going through our own hard times now, and we don't really talk anymore.

I try to reach out, let them know they can talk to me if they need to, but they never get back to me.

The most interaction we have is reblogging posts on Tumblr.
I know this happens. Interests change, people move on and grow apart. It's natural.

But that doesn't make it hurt any less.

I actually feel similarly annoyed with NaNo being in November but for me it's because I'd love to participate but November and December are the busiest times of the year. There so much to do for the holidays that there's no way I can do NaNo. And, it's not just writing, but the community I'd like to be involved with, so doing the camp or just writing for myself doesn't suit. Maybe some year I'll be able to try it, but I highly doubt it. So, I also wish it was at some other time of year.
