Basically, badfic in this fandom uses it as pretty much the be-all-end-all descriptor for a trademark color for a certain male character. And it's pretty much only done in really over-the-top badfic.

So much so that when I read actual books that are talking about the stone in and of itself I knee-jerk recoil. Thus, ruining the rock itself for me.
