Progressive. Very Liberal. Pretty socialist.

No, there is a term that describes that.

It's "special snowflake".

I honestly think that's most people. The internet would have you believe that the world is divided into cannibalistic conservatives and nice liberals (or lazy God hating liberals and smart conservatives, depending on who you're talking to). Some people translate this mentality IRL, but I see it online the most, when I think most people are... pretty evenly spread. They may collectively veer closest to one side or the other, but for the most part, they're complicated.

I mean, most of my friends are liberal, yet by the internet's definition we might not be liberal enough.

Politics are like dicks and we should go back to the days when people didn't wave them around in everyone else's faces.

I don't know. I self-identify as a liberal but it's not clear to me how much that actually means to people anymore.

Socially and fiscally liberal. And I'm comfortable using those terms because I actually know what they mean, and guess what, they describe my platform.

So socially liberal that I have to actively keep my mouth shut in my small town. I don't really have as much of a foundation as I should on fiscal matters, but I try to pay attention when people talk about them.

By my country's standards somewhere on the right, which is by American standards probably a radical left-wing liberal.

According to an internet test I took, I'm an anarcho-socialist.

Big taxes, big spending. Trying to figure out what to cut to lower spending is always a chore as everyone defends their pet projects. If we want to fund all the things different people claim are vital and can't be cut, high taxes are the only realistic way to accomplish that.

Is there a term for 'science based'? If a conservative policy shows hard evidence for success I'll embrace it, if a liberal policy shows hard evidence for success I'll embrace it.

Right now a lot of liberal policies are more science-based such as you can look at tons of evidence collected that science-based sexual education leads to fewer teen pregnancies, teens waiting longer to have sex, and even a correlation with fewer riskier behaviors in general. So it's pretty clear, supporting abstinence-only sex ed means you're pro-teens making babies, supporting science-based means you're anti-teens making babies.

However, once you start getting into the wibbly wobbly 'pink hats make some trans people uncomfortable, we should ban them.' 'but pink hats make other trans people very happy, we shouldn't ban them.' It starts getting pretty hairy because it is hard to draw the line between where an individual's pursuit of happiness impacts another's pursuit of happiness.

Bordering on nihillistic but mostly it's more like I'm just worn down and apathetic, only care about maybe 5 people and my family, and don't want to hear about anything else anymore. If it was feasible, I'd become a monk or hermit or something.

Then every now and then I just get depressed and sad and want to help everyone, but I don't have the energy and just go back to not caring. When I don't care I'm actually pretty zen and not sad anymore, but it makes me think most people would call me an asshole for that.

The world can do what it wants around me. I never asked for any of this, and I can't blame anyone else for feeling the same and acting as they feel they should because of it.

Leftist, fairly socialist. Emphasis on personal freedom and robust socialized infrastructure of essential services, including healthcare and education. Environment needs to be a very high priority. Generally anti-war. Dream of a world (probably many generations in the future) of a united human race.
