47. Other than Roy/Riza and Ed/Winry? Granted it's not every post like Roy/Ed, but there's quite a bit out there. I admit, I have my days of ">:E Can Ed fuck a GIRL for a change!? I mean JESUS!" but there are more appealing male characters to pair with him than female character (imo anyway) I'd like to see some more Amestris/Xing pairings myself, primarily het. :)

I happen to really like the manga recently--and I just posted a nice long rant about people not liking this. Oops? Were we supposed to keep it a secret? Eh. Whatever. To each their own, I guess. But I know a number of people who like it, so you're not alone, at least?

(I now think of Itachi thinking "why do you still love me? D:" every time he says something about Sasuke needing to hate him more. It makes me happy in the part of me that likes drama and angst and traumatized Uchihas.)

I know what you mean about missing out on the Crack Van parade. No one recs my fics, even though they keep telling me they should be canon. It makes me feel inexplicably torn, as if everyone is lying to me about my writing.

It's *especially* painful when you see stuff that's absolute garbage being recc'd, or people who are obviously friends of the recc'd author placing every story they've ever written on the site, to the point the place might as well be a mirror archive.

Yeah, yeah. It all does smack of cliquish nastiness anyway, and unfortunately, I've never been one of the 'in' kids :(

38 - AMEN, my anonymous H/W-sibling! Our fandom used to be about more than just getting validated by Shore et al's ship pandering. Whatever happened to the love, guys? These two have got one of the most amazing and fucked up relationships ever, and all we seem to do now is complain about "stupid cuthroat bitch!!1!1" messing up our H/W fantasies. Rise above this, H/W fandom - I know we're better than that.

69. Aw, see, I *loved* that Danny cheated because it comfirmed what I knew about the character all along--he is a bad boyfriend and he's capable of being a manipulative asshole. And both of those things just make me love him more. (I mean, I wouldn't *date* him for anything in the world, but as a character I think he's fun and interesting and flawed.)

8) Plot-twist wise, it'd be really an interesting turn, but I ship Soubi/Ritsuka hard and...I'd feel kinda wrong with someone who has such feelings for him who I DON'T want him to return them for being that close to him... I will admit, though, it'd be interesting.

28) Never seen the UK version...and don't much care to. Because I'm American, and even if the plot trumped it (which I find difficult to imagine, since I pretty much LIKED the plot all around already), THE ACCENTS WOULD ANNOY THE HELL OUT OF ME. I love British accents, but that combined with my brain already constantly comparing it to "the original" (read: the first one I saw, the US version), would be too much. Also, whenever I see the clothes on the UK version guys...just. No. :/ I'm probably missing out on some good gay TV, but...meh.

Plus I, yanno, think the US version guys are hotter. But that's personal opinion. In conclusion, USver>>>>>UKver on any level for me.

42. I most definitely agree with you. I find the power/confidence really attractive -- their motives are often mysterious. Understanding why a man would become a serial killer is more interesting to me than why a man would become a cop. I'm certainly not going to destroy the world -- but in fandom? Fiction? Bring on the bad guys.

46. Don't be discouraged. It's a hard thing trying to be creative when you're constantly surrounded by other people who are good at what they do. But some of the best artists and writers in the history of the world were plagued by self-doubt and insecurities. I mean, just look at Van Gogh or Hemmingway! That's not to put pressure on you to be the next BIG THING -- but to say that everyone feels that way sometimes. Regardless of whether you think other people are better than you, you should try to step away from it and look at WHY you write or create in the first place. If you do it because you enjoy it -- if you do it because you find it fulfilling -- if you do it because there's a need or a passion in you to make things (whether you ever share them or not) -- then you should never give up. Just because some people might seem to shine brighter, doesn't mean you're not a star.

I wouldn't call your loathing pointless. As a Troper over at tvtropes pointed out, Itachi still did unspeakably horrible things to his brother. Yes, he did for good reasons, but do the ends justify the means? I certainly have more sympathy for him now (as opposed to the outright antipathy I had for his character before), but I still think that disliking him is 100% justified.
